Intellectual Property
Intellectual Property are legal rights from ideas, thoughts and activities in many different fields including science, art, industry and writing.
An example would be an idea for an invention of yours
Trade-Marks
They are unique words, symbols or designs that are used to make a product unique
Some Known TradeMarks are cartoon characters, or Disney Characters like Mickey Mouse, or the word FaceBook
Patents
They give ownership of a new invention or improvement to the inventor.
This includes what the invention is, how to make it, and what it is made of.
Copyright
It means the right to copy it. Usually only the person who made the content can reproduce, or use it.
Examples include pictures, designs, videos and music
Public Domain
Works or ideas whose intellectual property rights have expired, inapplicable or given away.
Examples include Shakespeare’s work and many formulas which Newton discovered
Royalty
Money given to the owner of the license in order to use their object.
This includes payments to play music on the radio, use a video clip in a movie, or even play a video in the classroom
