PALEMBANG - Vice President Boediono officially closed the 26th Southeast Asian Games (SEA Games) here on Tuesday evening saying the true winner of the games was the peoples of Southeast Asia.

He said the 12 day-long event had shown to the world that true friendship had been built among the participating countries.

“The flame that has been alight for 12 days will be ex-tinguished but the fire in our hearts will never go out and that will remind us of our friendship as Southeast Asian community,” he said at Jakabaring Sports Complex.

Bangli government had driven by First Assistant I Wayan Lawe, the Head of Agriculture Division Ir. Wayan Sukartana, M.Si. and Public Relation Division Bangli with all of both printing and electronic media. It held comparative study of agri-cultural sector to Cianjur Regency, West Java on November 15-17. This comparative study will use as one of important element in arranging APBD Bangli 2012. The group of Bangli Regency received by Glono, Plh. Second Assistant of Cianjur Government and all of Agricultural

group also held direct inspection to the central developer of ornamental plantation in Cibodas. It was also reviewing KTA Cibongbong and the location of vegetable stalls in the edge of Cibongbong road.

looked clearly the arrangement of agricultural system and market-ing of agricultural products as it is initiated by KTA Cianjur. All of agricultural site in Cianjur arranged tidy and focused. It is also happened on harvesting season, all of agricul-tural products are marketing directly through KTA. Middleman system which at most harmed farmers were cutting up. Glono, Plh. Second As-sistant of Cianjur Government said 60 percent of Cianjur people are living as farmers. Agricultural pro-duction in this area covers highland

Some varieties of paddy Cian-jur had entering national market

including Ciherang, Cigelis and Bali. Kristin flower also had major markets such as Bali and Makassar. Agricultural sector had contributed 40% of the total region earning Cianjur. Cianjur farmers are per-haps same with Bangli farmers before they are developing them-selves. Middlemen were arbitrarily buying goods and harmed farmers so government cut this chain. Re-gion government met farmers with direct consumers such as hotel, res-taurant and supermarket in Jakarta. They held written agreement about the development of agricultural production with clear market target. So farmers are not confused to look for agricultural markets when har-vesting season has arrived.

Same statement comes from Solihin and some coordinators of Koperasi Tani Andalan (KTA) Cibongbong when this group held

giving some requirements of agri-cultural products that should growth by farmers. Government playing its role as supervisor but it solved the problem between consumer and farmers. All of agricultural products which are entering KTA directly bought. Goods packaging held in KTA before they were sent to the customers through covered box mobile. “Farmers have few assets and payment directly did after agri-cultural products received by KTA so KTA should have enough asset. First asset comes from government through aid,” said Solihin.

So far Kariarta sees no billboard in the area showed local culture and so hoped it can apply Balinese ornaments touches which bring up the locality and culture to the streets. Before, Cleanliness and Grounds Agency Head

for Denpasar, I Ketut Wisada, stated Denpasar advertise-ments have been started to be arranged also lessen by LED screens such as the one that will be on the Sudirman-Dewi Sartika Crossroad also along Teuku Umar Street. This will

give a better face for the city and that they’re not only look-ing for Regional Real Income (PAD). “We hope all advertise-ments will be arranged and so the culture city concept can be integrated as a whole,” Kaiarta explained. (kmb12)

Amlapura (Bali Post) –the raid on passengers and goods

at Padangbai Harbour are still tighten even though ASEAN Summit has

identity checked, as seen last Tues-day (22/11) police raided a closed box truck.

The truck that brought fruits such as bananas and essentials that came from Lembar was raided to check if the truck is as its document as stated by Padangbai Police head, APC Dewa Nila Candra as permitted by Karangasem Head Police GAPC Jefri Torunde. No weapons or explosives were found in the truck yet Candra

who just recovered from an accident stated the ASEAN Summit should be a momentum to remind Padangbai’s security quality. The hope is to keep increased for Bali’s security espe-cially the successful summit has been a positive respond to the nation that Bali is safe to be visited.

As told before, in recent harbours’ security and raids, a case of 0.5 kg gold and silver jewelleries totalling IDR 100 million and IDR 60 million from a ship passenger hand that just came from Lombok was found with-out its documents. Police also failed a seven cow skulls that was going to be sent to Denpasar area. (013)

Singaraja (Bali Post) –The Regional Budget and Ex-

penses of Buleleng year 2012 seemed much to be taken by the coming election for example its security got around IDR 4.2 billion while for the Public Election Com-mittee (KPU) IDR 26 billion also Supervising Committee IDR 2.2 bil-lion. Yet Buleleng Secretary Dewa Puspaka last Tuesday (22/11) stated due to luck, Buleleng got added

budget from central government in Special Allocation Fund (DAK) form which so this big election bud-get won’t affect other areas.

Even so Puspaka will keep on re-observing this budget as it is too much. Buleleng Police, KPU and Supervising Committee will be requested to present what the big budget is for. “This is to know what the expenses will be. If it’s not needed then it can be rationalised,”

Puspaka explained.Regional Public Election secu-

rity budget has been always given to the Regency’s police and it is a responsibility also as stated by government. Even so, the security is actually involving Raider 900 and Kodim members as well. “This needs to be given details on how they will arrange the budget as all will be given to the police,” Puspaka concluded. CAIRO - Egypt’s army chief, seeking to defuse street protests that have left 37 dead, promised a swifter handover to civilian rule but failed to convince thousands of hardcore demonstrators, some of whom battled police through the night. One man was killed in clashes early on Wednesday in the second city Alexandria, one of several towns that saw unrest.

Field Marshal Mohamed Hus-sein Tantawi, who has run the ruling military council since mass protests unseated his long-time ally Hosni Mubarak in February, made a falter-ing televised address on Tuesday in which he promised a civilian presi-dent would be elected in June, about six months sooner than planned.

Confirming Egypt’s first free parliamentary election in decades will start on Monday, the council also accepted the resignation of the civilian prime minister and his cabi-

net, who had incensed democrats with a short-lived proposal that the army remain beyond civilian con-trol under any new constitution.

But Tantawi angered many of the youthful demonstrators on Cairo’s Tahrir Square and in other cities by suggesting a referendum on whether military rule should end earlier - a move many saw as a ploy to appeal to the many Egyptians who fear further upheaval and to divide those from the young activists. “Leave! Leave!” came the chants in Cairo and, in an echo of Febru-ary’s chorus: “The people want to topple the marshal.”

Riot police guarding the ap-proach roads to the interior min-istry near Tahrir Square fired sustained volleys of teargas at protesters who had been battling them with stones throughout the night. rotesters said police had also been using buck shot and rubber bullets.

Relatives of 57 people killed in the Philippines’ worst political massacre called on authorities Wednesday to speed up the suspects’ trial as they marked the second anniversary of the murders. Leaders of a feared clan are on trial over the killings but the proceedings have become bogged down, while another 100 suspects -- including other members of the Ampatuan family clan, policemen and soldiers -- are on the run.

Converging on a remote hill in the southern province of Maguindanao, where the massacre took place, fami-lies of the dead offered flowers and

lit candles on a stone marker where names of the victims were etched. Underscoring the fragile security in the area and the sensitivity of the case, police said they found and defused two bombs left by the side of the highway leading to the solemn site.

The devices were not strong enough to badly hurt or kill but were intended to send a warning, they said. “It has been two years and there is still no justice. Some (suspects) have been arraigned (brought to court) but others are still out there,” said Reginald Dalmacio, 28, brother of one of the victims.

While leaders of the Ampatuan clan, who are accused of orchestrat-

ing the killings, have been charged, their trial is still in its early stages and prosecutors fear it could take years more before anyone is pun-ished. Relatives of the victims have complained that witnesses are being killed, intimidated or bribed.

Philippine politics is well known for its violence, but the events of November 23, 2009 in a remote farming area in Maguindanao shocked the world. Andal Ampatu-an Jnr allegedly led a group of about 100 gunmen in stopping a convoy of cars carrying relatives of a rival political candidate, their lawyers and accompanying journalists, then massacring them.

Egypt protesters battle on to end army rule

Activists said Syrian forces killed 21 civilians and five army deserters on Tuesday. Among those killed were four children shot dead by troops near a school in the central region of Houla and a 12-year-old killed at a protest in the eastern city of Deir al-Zor, the Syrian Observa-tory for Human Rights said.

It was not possible to indepen-

dently confirm the killings as Syrian authorities, who blame the unrest on “armed terrorist groups,” have barred most independent media from the country.

The United Nations says 3,500 people have been killed since the protests erupted in March, triggered by Arab uprisings which toppled the leaders of Tunisia, Egypt and

Libya.“Without spilling any more blood,

without causing any more injustice, for the sake of peace for the people, the country and the region, finally step down,” Turkish Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan said on Tuesday, in his first direct call for Assad to go.

In a further sign that Turkey was stepping up pressure on Syria, Turkish media reported that Tur-keys’ land commander inspected troops near the border.

“Bashar al-Assad comes out and says ‘I will fight to the death’. For the love of God, who are you fight-ing with?” asked Erdogan.

When new moon is used then the celebration always happens on new moon or full moon. JAKARTA - The House of Representatives (DPR) on Tuesday approved Bank Indonesia (the central bank/BI)`s operational budget proposal for 2012 and hoped the realization of receipt budget next year would exceed its target.

At a meeting led by Deputy Chairman of the House Com-mission XI Harry Azhar Aziz, Bank Indonesia Governor Darmin Nasution proposed a receipt budget of Rp27.37 tril-lion and expenditure budget of Rp5.23 trillion for 2012.

The 2012 receipt budget is higher than that of 2011 when the figure was set at Rp22.63 trillion with the expected real-ization of Rp25.4 trillion. Meanwhile, the 2012 expenditure budget is smaller than that of 2011 when the figure stood at Rp5.27 trillion with the expected realization of Rp4.33 trillion.

Darmin said the expenditure budget would be used among others for salaries and other income estimated at Rp2.13 trillion, human resources development and maintenance Rp1.54 trillion, logistics Rp537 billion, supporting activi-ties Rp346 billion, taxes Rp428 billion and unpredictable expenses Rp249 billion.

Last year, the expenditure budget for salaries stood at Rp1.99 trillion, human resources development and mainte-nance Rp1.79 trillion and logistics Rp519.8 billion.

Darmin said the 2012 expenditure budget was mainly directed towards strengthening the capability of Bank Indonesia`s internal management to create more effective organizational management and good governance.

“The focus of the activity is to harmonize business process at Bank Indonesia, integrate information system gradually, implement performance-based budgeting gradu-ally, make preparations for sustainable management of Bank Indonesia`s activities and improve the competence of human resource, and ensure adequate human resources,” he said.

Col. Antonius Wisnu Sutirta, a police spokesman, said the sus-pects admitted to chasing down the primates with dogs, then shooting, stabbing or hacking them to death with machetes.

The men allegedly told authori-ties the owners of several palm oil plantations on Borneo island, eager to protect lucrative crops from be-ing raided, offered $100 for every orangutan killed and $20 for every long-nosed proboscis monkey.

If found guilty of violating the Law on National Resources Con-servation, they face up to five years in jail, Sutirta said.

Indonesia — home to 90 percent of the orangutans left in the wild — has lost half of its rain forests in the last half century in its rush to supply the world with timber, pulp, paper and, more recently, palm oil.

The remaining 50,000 to 60,000 apes live in scattered, degraded

forests, putting them in frequent, and often deadly, conflict with humans.

A study published this month in the journal PLoSOne said villagers in Kalimantan, the Indonesian por-tion of Borneo, admitted to slaugh-tering at least 750 orangutans over a yearlong period — a figure much higher than previously thought.

Some were killed to protect crops, others because villagers thought the animals were danger-ous. A much smaller number were hunted for their meat, the survey showed.

“The simple conclusion is that orangutans will be hunted to ex-tinction unless someone stops the killings,” said Erik Meijaard, main author of the study.

“It’s a blatant infringement of Indonesia’s conservation laws,” he said. “I really hope that both the perpetrators and the plantation

managers who ordered the killings will be punished accordingly.”

The two men were arrested Sunday at their homes in Muara Kaman, a village in east Kalim-antan, after the bones of several orangutans and proboscis monkeys were recovered.

Yaya Rayadin, a researcher from Mulawarman University in the Kalimantan town of Samarinda, said the bones were scattered in 15 different places and that tests in his lab indicated the deaths were vio-lent. Most had hack marks on their skulls, jaws and ribs, he said.

Rayadin said he believes many more people were involved in the killings.

He said he first told authorities in 2008 that palm oil plantations were offering rewards to locals who slaughtered orangutans or monkeys — with pictures or video offered as proof — but that until now no action had been taken.

“The fact police have arrested two people is a sign of remarkable progress,” he said. “But the main thing now is to find a way to protect the orangutans that are still alive.”

TIMIKA - A small Cessna aircraft crashed while trying to land in Indone-sia’s remote Papua region on Wednes-day, killing the Spanish co-pilot and critically injuring the New Zealand pilot, local rescue officials said.

Susi Air’s Cessna Grand Caravan air-craft crash-landed on an airstrip in Paniai district after taking off from neighbour-ing Nabire, local search and rescue chief Sumpeno Yuwono told AFP.

“The New Zealand pilot has been

rescued to a hospital in Timika town and the body of the Spanish co-pilot was sent to a nearby airport,” he said, adding that the accident took place around 9 am local time (0000 GMT).

He said the cause of the crash was being investigated.

Zulfiqar, another search and rescue official who like many Indonesians goes by a single name, said that the aircraft was flying food supplies to remote villages in the Paniai district.

The sprawling Indonesian archipela-

go relies heavily on air transport and has a poor aviation safety record. Turbulent weather conditions in Papua have caused several accidents in recent years.

In September an Australian and a Slovak pilot were killed when their Grand Caravan, owned by the same company, went down in a remote area of Papua province.

Another small aircraft, also trans-porting supplies to remote villages for a Christian organisation in Papua, crashed the same month, killing its American pilot and two passengers.

Nolan told the British film maga-zine that the prologue is “basically the first six, seven minutes of the film” and will serve as “an introduc-tion to Bane, and a taste of the rest of the film.” (Representatives for the movie’s studio, Warner Bros., weren’t available for further comment or confirmation.)

Nolan also told Empire that “The Dark Knight Rises” would be set eight years after its predecessor. Christian Bale’s hero is “an older Bruce Wayne; he’s not in a great state,” Nolan said. “Perhaps surpris-ingly for some people, our story picks up quite a bit later, eight years after ‘The Dark Knight.’” The filmmaker

also discussed the movie’s villain.“With Bane, we’re looking to give

Batman a challenge he hasn’t had be-fore,” Nolan added. “With our choice of villain and with our choice of story we’re testing Batman both physically as well as mentally.”

The “Dark Knight Rises” prologue will be screened in advance of Para-mount’s “Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol” and be rated PG-13. This isn’t the first time Warner Bros. has whetted Batman fans’ appetites in this fashion.

In December 2007, the prologue to “The Dark Knight” was shown along with some IMAX screenings of the sci-fi film “I Am Legend.”

LOS ANGELES - The Black Eyed Peas have denied rumors that they are breaking up but say they are taking a break from making music together for a while. “We are not breaking up,” band member Taboo told Reuters on Monday at a launch party for their video dance game, “The Black Eyed Peas Experience.”

“We’re going to take a little vaca-tion and focus on our personal things,” added Apl.de.ap, real name Allan Lindo, Jr. who will be focusing on his duties as ambassador for education in

the Philippines. Will.i.am told TV chat show host Ellen DeGeneres, in an in-terview to be aired on Wednesday, that the band “always have two cycles of records and then we take a break.”

“When we take breaks you know, we work on side projects and get our personal stuff in order to then come back and make beautiful music,” added the rapper. The band will play their final concert before the break in Miami on Wednesday and will feature Marc Antony, Cee Lo Green, Flo Rida, Sean Kingston and Jason Derulo.

The four band members have all ventured into solo projects in addition

to their music, including fragrance and shoe collections, acting, and phil-anthropic causes, which they will be focusing on during their hiatus. Their video dance game on the Xbox 360 Kinect and Wii consoles allows gamers to learn the Black Eyed Peas chore-ography while seeing their progress captured on screen.

“I want them to get the excitement of actually having the Black Eyed Peas in their own living room,” said Taboo. The game is also a good workout re-gime. “We have childhood obesity, so it’s a good way for people to work out while having fun,” said singer Fergie.

NEW YORK — If you ever see Vince Gill shirtless at one of his concerts, you can likely place the blame on Sting. Bare-chested singing is a regular affair for the rocker, and when Gill was asked if he’d go shirtless for the pair’s CMT “Crossroads” special, Sting chimed in: “He will tonight. I’m going to encourage him.”

“What a thought. You know I haven’t eaten in six weeks pre-paring for this gig because of this yardstick over here,” said Gill, looking at Sting before laugh-ing: “Going to look like Laurel and Hardy up there.” “I’ve never been described as a yardstick. Is that a compliment?” asked Sting, joining in the laughter.

The good vibes between the two translate onstage during the special, which will air on Thanksgiving at 8 p.m. and was pre-taped in September. The rock and country veterans had worked together once before, at the 2004 Grammy Awards in tribute to the Beatles. Both said linking up musically was easy because they

have “similar registers. “That’s always appealing — to find guys with guts enough to sing like girls,” said Gill, laughing again.

The “Crossroads” series has featured collaborations from James Taylor and the Dixie Chicks to John Mayer and Keith Urban. This one-hour concert will have Gill and Sting performing hits like “Shape of My Heart,” ‘’Every Breath You Take” and “Don’t Let Our Love Start Slippin’ Away.”

While the singers — who own a combined 36 Grammy Awards — say the collaboration was a com-fortable one, they admit there were some challenges, too, when it came to covering the other’s songs.

“When you immerse yourself in somebody else’s work and the more you get to know the song, you recognize these little inflec-tions in the melody, which you hadn’t noticed the first time,” Sting said. “It demands a lot of respect, a lot of care and attention.”

Gill knew it would be tough to cover Sting’s material, and he told the rock singer he’d need him to step in during some mo-ments.

Nicknamed Curiosity and sched-uled for launch on Saturday, the rover has a 7-foot arm tipped with a jackhammer and a laser to break through the Martian red rock. What really makes it stand out: It can analyze rocks and soil with unprec-edented accuracy.

“This is a Mars scientist’s dream machine,” said NASA Jet Propul-sion Laboratory’s Ashwin Vasa-vada, the deputy project scientist.

Once on the red planet, Curiosity will be on the lookout for organic, carbon-containing compounds. While the rover can’t actually detect the pres-ence of living organisms, scientists hope to learn from the $2.5 billion, nuclear-powered mission whether

Mars has — or ever had — what it takes to nurture microbial life.

Curiosity will be “the largest and most complex piece of equipment ever placed on the surface of another planet,” said Doug McCuistion, di-rector of NASA’s Mars exploration program. Ten feet long, 9 feet wide and 7 feet tall at its mast, Curiosity is about twice the size of previous rov-ers Spirit and Opportunity, weighs 1 ton and is loaded with 10 science instruments. Its formal name: Mars Science Laboratory, or MSL.

In a spacecraft first, Curiosity will be lowered to Mars’ surface via a jet pack and a tether system similar to the sky cranes used by helicopters to insert heavy equipment in inacces-

sible spots on Earth. No bouncing air bags like those used for the Mars Pathfinder lander and rover in 1997 and for Spirit and Opportunity in 2004 — Curiosity is too heavy for that. It is the kind of precision land-ing that officials said will benefit future human explorers on Mars.

The rover is scheduled to arrive at the mineral-rich Gale Crater next August, 8½ months after embarking on the 354-million-mile voyage aboard an Atlas V rocket.

It’s a treacherous journey to Mars, and the road is littered with failures. In all, more than three dozen missions have aimed over the decades at the most Earth-like planet known, and fewer than half have succeeded. Of this flotilla, only one lander is still working on the dry, barren, cold surface — Opportunity — and only three craft still are observing the planet from orbit.

LOS ANGELES — Houdini the dog lived up to his name. The lab-shepherd mix, known as a crafty escape artist, was placed in a foster home by Best Friends Animal Sanctuary in Kanab, Utah. Despite his new owner’s best efforts to keep him close, the dog pushed an air con-ditioner out of a window and made his getaway.

Fortunately the staff at Best Friends anticipated Houdini’s wander-ing ways and had outfitted his collar with a GPS tracking device. The device worked as promised, and Best Friends adoption manager Kristi Littrell found the errant dog in an overgrown lot in Kanab.

About half of the pets that enter animal shelters each year are strays or lost animals, but the growing use of GPS technology may offer own-ers a new option for trying to track down roaming cats, missing dogs and other runaway pets.

Several GPS devices are now being marketed that attach to collars and can be monitored by handsets, cellphones or computers with relative ease. Kristi Littrell, adoption manager at Best Friends, said Houdini was “the same color as the weeds” in the lot where she found him.

“I would never have found him without the GPS device on his collar,” she added. Best Friends is still hoping to find a home for Houdini, and plans to give the GPS device to the new owners to help make sure that if he ever does get out again, he’ll be easily tracked down.

“It’s great these devices are available to us now,” Littrell said. “They will undoubtedly help in a lot of cases where pets would otherwise not be found and returned home.”

Best Friends uses a device called Loc8tor to keep track of Houdini. A handset picks up a signal from a tag attached to the pet’s collar and indicates which way to go to locate the tag. It’s designed to work within a range of 400 feet, though obstacles like walls and floors can reduce the range.

Another GPS tracking device designed for pets is Tagg The Pet Tracker. Its fans include Jessica Vogelsang, a San Diego veterinar-ian who received a free Tagg for review on her blog, Dr. V at Pawcuri-ous.com.

BIRTH rates by teenage and young adult mothers in the United States fell to historic lows last year, while birth rates among women over 40 hit a 30-year high, according to data released Thursday. The birth rate among teens age 15-19 dropped nine percent in 2010

compared to a year earlier, the largest single year dip since 1946-47, the US Department of Health and Human Services said in its National Vital Statis-tics Report.

At 34.3 births per 1,000 among teens, that marks “a record low for the nation,” said the report. Teenage birth rates have been falling steadily since 1991, and are now 44 percent lower than they were 20 years ago. “I am

aware of no other social problem that has improved so dramatically over so many years,” said Sarah Brown, chief executive officer of The National Campaign to Prevent Teen and Unplanned Pregnancy.

“The magic formula of less sex and more contraception is responsible for this great good news.” Tough economic times, combined with some popular reality television shows that have

spotlighted the lives of teenage mothers, have also helped bring down the birth rates. “But at the end of the day, the thanks and ad-miration go to teens themselves,” said Brown.

Women 20 to 24 years old also saw a drop of six percent in birth rate compared to 2009, with 2010’s rate of 90 per births per 1,000 making it the “lowest level ever reported for the United States.”

“I have called the team and I have informed them of the situation. This was a difficult decision to make, but it is the most reasonable one.

“I also know that LRGP need to prepare for next year, and further extending deadlines would not have been the right thing to do. On a personal level, my recovery is still very encour-aging and my doctors keep being impressed. I just need more time, as I want to be 100 per cent ready before I commit to anything driving related.

“Finally, I regret not hav-ing been able to provide more news and not having appeared in the papers, and I thank my friends of the media for un-derstanding that this has been the best way for me to cope with what has been the most difficult period of my life.”

Renault said Kubica can now walk freely, and move his hand and elbow. The team also said that it “remains committed to helping Robert as much as possible in his recovery process.” Renault said it has a test car ready for

Kubica and a crew on stand-by in case the Pole is ready to drive again.

The team also stated that it is in talks with Kubica’s management about renewing his contract for the 2013 sea-son, with his current contract expiring at the end of next year. Renault said it will now start assessing its options for

its 2012 line-up.“Everybody in the team is,

of course, very disappointed today,” said team boss Eric Boullier. “Robert not driving in Australia at the start of next season is not what we were all hoping for. However, he has taken a very mature decision, acting in the best interests of Lotus Renault GP.

“As a team and as a fam-ily, we remain 100 per cent behind him and we’ll help as much as we can. A pro-gramme composed of simu-lator testing, single-seater and F1 track time is awaiting him. In the meantime, we will start talking to a few drivers in order to finalise our line-up for next year as soon as possible.

“Robert will take it step by step and will jump back in his racing car when he feels it is the right moment to do so. On behalf of all 520 members of the team, I wish him a speedy recovery.”

FELIPE Massa has advised Rubens Barrichello to retire from Formula 1 if he needs to be searching for sponsors to secure a drive for next year. Williams driver Barrichello has no deal in place for the 2012 season ahead of the final race of the year in Brazil this weekend.

Barrichello has admitted he is not facing his home race as his final F1 grand prix, as he is still hopeful he will secure a drive for next year, which will be his 20th season in Formula 1.

Ferrari driver Massa, however, believes Barrichello has had what he labelled as an incredible career, and he reckons his compatriot should use

this weekend’s race to have a “proper” retirement from the sport.

“I did give him an advice: to quit,” the Brazilian told TotalRace in an interview. “To me, Barrichello had an incredible career in F1: the driver who competed in most GPs and with many wins under his belt. It is a career most drivers would dream to have.

“He raced for the best teams in F1. I haven’t advise him to quit because I feel he is old or something like that. But today in F1 there are 12 teams, and five or six are asking for money to give a seat. I think this is absurd.

“My opinion, which I told him, is that I can’t see Barrichello searching

for sponsors to race after all he had achieved in F1.

“I told him to quit and to use this last race to have a proper ending. But I know he will do what he thinks is the best for him and, as a friend, I will support him and hoping for the best for him.”

Robert Kubica has told his Renault team that he will not be ready to start the 2012 season following his accident at the start of this year. The Pole said that, despite his recovery going well, it is too early to commit to the 2012 season. “Even if I’ve been working very, very hard over the course of the last few weeks, I came to the conclusion that I am not yet certain to be ready for the 2012 season,” said Kubica in a Renault statement.
