Editors  NoteThroughout this magazine it explores the different aspics of People, Places and Events to do with the city of Edinburgh. I had chosen Never Forget as my topic as i belibelieve captures the most exciting and interesting parts in Edinburgh. Through Never Forget there was more chance of exploring the history of Edinburgh and all the amazing tourist attractions. In this magazine i have chosen what i thing are some of the best places to go to in Edinburgh and the kind of people you meet in Edinburgh suEdinburgh such as tourists and buskers. Also that there are so many different gigs and events that happen all the time with posters that cover bill boards and stands.

Edinburgh Castle has always been a main attraction which pulls tourists to Scotland. The Castle is the most visited tourist attraction in Scotland with a estimate of 1 million visitors each year. Its filled with amazing historic historic values and tales. Edinburgh Castle as the centre point in the city gives a exciting and royal aura, being seen from miles away. The Castle is surrounded by lots of different attractions and places such as the Mary Kings close and the Grassmarket. The Royal Mile leads up to the Castle from the parliaments, the Royal Mile also a great part of the castle experience, with lots of tourist shops, pubs and restaurants. Every summer the Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo taTattoo takes place, it attracts people from all over the world.

The  National  History  Museum  is  a  great  place  to  go  to  on  a  rainy  day.  For  all  the  young  historians  and  scientists  there  is  lots  to  dis-­cover  all  different  kinds  of  cul-­tures  from  around  the  world,  the  history  in  Scotland  and  the  time  stages  of  technology  and  science.  Throughout  the  museum  there  are  lots  of  different  activities  to  keep  children  occupied.  In  the  museum  there  are  always  different  exhibi-­tions  such  as  the  Primordial:  Super  Natural  Bayi  Minyjirral  and  Ming:  The  Golden  Empire,  are  the  current  exhibitions.  The  National  History  Museum  is  in  the  Old  Town  on  George  IV  Bridge,  so  its  not  far  way  from  all  tourist  attractions  or  shopping  stores.

Every year hundreds of people busk on the Royal Mile, Princes Street and the Grassmarket. There are people playing bag pipes, singing and perperforming. Many tourists are really interested in bagpipers, running up beside them to get a picture while the performer tries to continue to play. A bagpiper performing on the street will get the most attention from tourists because it is apart of Scottish heritage and culturScottish heritage and culture. The person playing the pipes will usually be wearing a kilt and sporran, shirt, vest jacket and jacket which is traditional dress wear. Around festival time e.g. the Fringe, the street entertainers can make quite a lot of money and intrigue large crowds.

Oddly enough in the centre of Edinburgh if you wanted to go hill walking you can do. Arthurs seats is a a very popular attraction in Edinburgh, and it is the best way to see the city. you get an outstanding panoramic view of the city from the Forth to the PPentlands. There are many different routes up to the top, on of the most changed route is from the east side with almost vertical stair case leading to the top of Arthurs seat. The Salisbury Crags is a cliff which wraps around the front of Arthurs seat, and was once used for climbing but is still an attraction to walk up as it also has stunning views. The Crags and Arthurs seat can be seen from miles away. In Holyrood Park there is also St MargaretMargaret’s Loch and St Anthony’s chapel which is also a great place have a walk around. There is lots of different wild life that live in and round the loch such as swans, ducks, squirrels and rabbits.

A big event that takes place every year is Edinburgh’s winter wonderland. The main areas where there event takes place is St andrews Square and Princes Street Gardens. The whole atmosphere of the winter wwonderland is exciting and fun. There are lots of different rides and activities like the big wheel, the star flyer and lots of little rides for the children such as Santa grotto. All around are different kinds of markets such as, Scottish stalls, beer stalls, coffee stalls and craft stalls. Every year there is a ice rink which completely finishes off Edinburghfinishes off Edinburgh’s winter wonderland, hundreds of people take to ice for the christmas like experience.

A great historic attractions in Edinburgh is Mary KingEdinburgh is Mary King’s Close. It is a course of underground streets with the tale that the street was blocked off and cover up keeping in plague victims and murders, and the close haunted by their ghosts.

The Mary King’s Close tour highlights the horrifying ghost stories within the old town of Edinburgh. Through out the tour your told stories of people who have lived in the the close and what had supposably happened to the victims. The ghost tour is a must do eexperience when visiting Edinburgh, but not for the faint hearted.

One of the greatest views of Edinburgh Castle is from the

Grassmarket, looking right up the side of the rocky hill to the castle on

top. But the Grassmarket is one of the best places in Edinburgh to

find pubs and cocktail bars. It has bars right along the length of the

street from Biddy Mulligans, a irish sports bar, to The Fiddler’s Arms,

which is a Scottish Folk pub. The Grass market is a very busy and

popular area whipopular area which is just off George IV Bridge and the Royal Mile.

On the Grassmarket there is usually a lot of

different stalls and merchandisers selling jewellery and candles. There

is often a couple of buskers that play along the street of the

Grassmarket, who gain quite a bit of attention from the tourists and

locals.

There are many bill boards and stands around

advertising nightclubs, special events and theatre

shows. One of the biggest events to take place in

Edinburgh is the Edinburgh is the Fringe festival. People from all over

the world come to attend the Fringe. The Fringe festival

displays many different kinds of art shows and music

gigs. There are lots of well known comedians that play

in many of the venues around Edinburgh. The Fringe

takes place for the whole month of August. Also the

EdinburghEdinburgh Tattoo is performed every night during the

Fringe Festival. Over 46 countries from across the world

perform in the Edinburgh Tattoo, as it celebrates all

different cultures and music.

In Scotland, thousands of

tourists visit each year. The

majority of the tourists

coming to Scotland are

Americans, Germans, French

and Australians.Edinburgh is

the biggest attraction to

tourists because of its tourists because of its

historical background and

billion pounds is made in

Scotland each year from

tourism, with the majority

being spend in Edinburgh.

There are hundreds of places

and attractions in Edinburgh

in the summer and also

hundreds of concerts and

plays in theatres around

Edinburgh. Also for people

aged 18+ there are lots of

different kinds of nightclubs

that are sometimes open

every night of the week.
