What do women want? Since time began men have been pulling their hair out trying to answer this question. If men could

just figure out what women want their lives would be so much easier and peaceful. Unfortunately most men try to find the answer to this question by asking their buddies, usually single buddies. They never go to the source to find the answer to this question. Which is really not surprising given how men are unwilling to ask for directions. So listen up men, because I love you guys, and because I am a giving kind of person, I am here to answer that age old question of what women really want. Thank you.

Women want to be treated just like men.Currently women are making 75.5 cents for every dollar men earn. If we perform the job just as well as men we ought to be paid the same as

men. Unless that job involves killing hairy spiders or cleaning out septic tanks, then we’re okay with the whole inequality thing because there is no way we want

to kill the spiders and suck out the sludge. We’ll stand there and hold the shovel.

Women do not want to be objectifiedWhen you talk to us we would really appreciate it if you would look at our eyes. Unless, of course, we just spent $75 on a really great push up bra, in which case we want you to notice our perky breasts, but only for a few seconds.

Women want foreplayReal foreplay, not a 15 second back rub the minute we sit down after a day of working 10 hours at our 75.5 cent to your dollar job and then helping with homework, cooking, cleaning and all things mom. If you want to get us in the mood then run a load of laundry from start to finish and don’t ask us to praise you for it. Just do it.

Women don’t want to be asked stupid questionsThere is no question from my husband I hate more in the world than “Are these dishes clean?”O. M. G. Can’t you just LOOK and SEE if they’re clean????? If there are not chunks of breakfast, lunch or dinner on anything inside, then go ahead and assume they are clean. And while you’re at it, EMPTY IT!

Women want to be understoodWe really want you to understand what it means when we say fine. It means that no matter what you say we have won the argument and you would be best off apologizing if you want to make the fight go away. We want you to know that there are a few days each month when we are a little crabby, maybe weepy and we NEED chocolate. Stop eating our stash.

It’s pretty simple.Pay us the same, kill the spiders, do some laundry, stop eating our chocolate.Oh, and pick up your wet towels and dirty socks.

Don’t Forget Your Remote! We all know how serious our remote controls are! They are so valu-able when it comes to watching sports, playing music, giving presenta-tions, and more. Let’s be honest and say that the most important remote control is for the television. With the Home DVR phone app, which is completely free, it allows you to program and record your favorite shows from anywhere. If you happen to be at work and realized you forgot to record a game grab your cell, go to the app, and record it. This app makes watching TV so easy!

Ready for Work! Most men will not admit it but know that you are not alone! If you don’t know how to tie a tie, there is actually a phone app that can assist. For only $.99 you can download the Tie-a-Tie Deluxe app from iTunes. Even if you do know how to get ready for work, this app also includes how to tie ropes into knots, and so on. It will show you step by step how to create different knots, along with pictures to guide you. You never know when you are going to need to tie something. Whip out your phone, and you are ready to go!

Drink Anyone?Every man needs some sort of an app that details how to make differ-ent cocktails. Whether you want to order your female friend a drink, or be the bartender at your next gathering, this app can be extremely helpful. The Cocktails Made Easy app can direct you on how to make hundreds of cocktails. Many of the mixtures include just 14 ingredi-ents and are commonly found within your home. As you browse the cocktail options you will also see pictures of what it should look like. This way you can compare it to your concoction. This awesome app is only $2.99 and is well worth it!

Don’t Forget Your Fitness AppAlthough not everyone works out, most of us try to. We may visit the gym a few days a week but don’t really have a clue as to what we should be doing. The Men’s Health Workouts App can help in this case. Even if you do know how to work out properly it can still give you tips on how to mix it up. Within this helpful app you will find instructions on how to perform workouts, you can log your workout, and it lists the most popular workouts. If you are a workout freak, it can benefit you as well because it also helps in the management of when to rest between workouts. It does so in the form of a timer. As you get your buff on use this app to assist and maximize your gym time.

For You Outdoorsy TypesIf your one to participate in outdoor activities such as boating, camp-ing, hunting, and so on, this next app for men is ideal. It is called the SAS Survival Guide and can help in any situation. Granted you may not have cell phone service in the wild, if you do, you are good to go. It supplies helpful information on things you can consume in the wild, what dangerous plants to watch out for, has videos with survival tips, and much more. Let’s just say your gal will be quite impressed if you’re ever forced to survive in the wild, and happen to have a work-ing cell phone!

The Perfect Poker Night Let’s face it! Poker night is much more than just a card game. You have laughs, chatter, maybe a little male bonding, and all within the conve-nience of your own home. Although the poker night scene in the movies may seem fun, the last thing you want is such a serious atmosphere. No talking, no BSing, what good is that? Here are a few tips to the ideal mans poker night.

You’re Not in a Movie!Since you are not in a movie, or a casino for that matter, you are going want to create a fun atmosphere. Here you are actually allowed to talk and play music. The music you decide upon will depend on what you and your guests like. Be sure to plug in your ipod and play a song list that won’t make everyone fall asleep. You don’t want distracting music either but just enough beats to give the poker night a little life.

Same goes for the lights! In the movies you may have noticed the dim lights but if there is drinking, you may find guests falling asleep. Granted the lights don’t need to be shinning blindly on every ones faces, but you can find a happy middle. Not to dim, not to bright!

Please Your ThirstThere is no question that you are likely going to be drinking. At the same time, you may want to avoid creating drunks. Just as in the movie’s, they will annoy you as well. You will want everyone to have a nice buzz without the spins! How will they be able to read their cards? Enough for a good time, but enough to remember the amounts of money lost or won in poker.

For your ideal poker party night, mix up some cocktails. Not your girly cocktails but your manly ones! Some suggestions include The Old Fash-ioned (a bourbon based man cocktail), The Tim Collins (which is gin based), or The Manhattan (whiskey based). These are just a few of many man cocktails but the point is stay away from beer!

Which Game to Play & What Players? The numbers of poker games you can play are endless. The best one to play is going to be the classic Texas Hold’em. It is ideal for up to eight players, easy to play and chat at the same time, and everyone should know the rules.

Obviously you want to have your best buds with you at your poker night however, you should remember one thing; you are playing with money (most likely) so you want to be sure everything is still cool at the end of the night. If you think one of your friends will take the game too seriously then perhaps you should skip their invite. On that same note, you don’t want your friends showing up with pennies, so skip those cheap friends as well. It is a rule that you are responsible for the friends you bring. Save yourself the embarrassment and go with the laid back pal!

LimitationsThe last thing you will want to consider for your poker party is the stakes. Granted no limits can be fun, but it can also be dangerous. Have an idea of the people at your party and know what everyone can afford to lose. If you’re not sure, just ask! Figure it out before the game.Good tunes, fun people, simple poker game, and tasty drinks, your night is sure to be a hit!

When you're out at night and meet a hot woman, chances are good someone will try to cock block you to make sure she doesn't go home with you. But it may not be another guy getting in your way. Other women (read: Her friends), can be potential grenades, ready to blow up your game any chance they get. Here are 5 of the most common... and how to deal with them when they start running interference.

The Mother HenDescription: She's the friend who feels it's her job to protect your girl from guys like you.

Behavior: She'll tend to hover nearby, and constantly ask her friend questions like: "Are you ok?", "Are you sure you're ok? and "Are you really ok, because we can leave..."

Remedy: You have two ways to deal with a Mother Hen: 1. You can make her feel as comfortable with you as possible, by including her in the conversation and showing her you have no intention of leaving her friend's lifeless body in a dumpster behind a motel. This does take some effort, because they tend to be seriously skeptical and demand a lot of attention. That's why option 2 is easier: Have your buddy/wingman step in and keep her busy. After all, that's why you'll be buying him beers all night, so he can keep regaling her with witty stories while you spend time getting to know her friend.

The Mother BearDescription: Think Mother Hen on 'roid rage. After finding out she lost her job, her car, and her boyfriend slept with her sister. She's like an angry mother bear protecting her cubs, and for whatever reason she really doesn't want you talking to her friend.

Behavior: Openly aggressive, she'll usually step in between the two of you and say something like "Go Away."

Remedy: Go away. For now. She is a grenade with the pin pulled you don't want to mess with. And you never look good in a bar (or any public place, for that matter), when a woman is screaming in your face. It's a no win situation. And unless you have a wingman who is an expert at dismantling this kind of bomb, your best bet is to retreat for now, and watch for an opening when she's not around.

The 5 Female Cock Blockers You'll Encounter at the Bar

(And How to Deal With Them)

Page 17: Edge Monthly May Issue

The Debbie Downer Description: She's miserable and wants everyone around her to be miserable too.

Behavior: Since it would kill her to see her friend meet a great guy instead of her, she'll be hanging around telling stories of how men have done her wrong in the past, bringing up negatives about her friend, her exboyfriends, the latest flu pandemic... anything to kill the mood you're trying to establish with your girl.

Remedy: This is a job for your wingman. Introduce him as the Best Listener North of the Rio Grande. All she wants is attention. Have him come into the conversation and gradually work her over to another area of the bar to let her pour her heart out. And get the attention she craves. No wingman? Then you've got to be Mr. Sunshine. Buy into her misery and you're done. Instead, turn everything around, look for the silver lining in her stories. If anything, it'll show the girl you're talking to that you're a positive guy. Just don't let the Downer think you're coming on to her... otherwise you're giving her more fuel for her pity party.

The Party PlannerDescription: She's been planning this "Girl's Night" for weeks, and no guy is going to come in and mess it all up.

Behavior: She'll walk over with her big, fake smile to constantly remind you that they "are all together" and that this is "our girl's night" they are "all leaving together."

Remedy: Hit and run. Unless the girl you're talking to is willing to piss off her friend and hang out with you for the rest of the night, you're going to need to work fast. Tell her you're having a great time, but don't want to ruin the girl's night, so you'll have to continue the conversation another time. Soon. Get her number and make plans to meet.

The Jealous ManiacDescription: She's tired of seeing all her friends get hit on while she sips her cosmotini alone.

Behavior: A rogue missile, she'll do whatever she can to torpedo your, and her friend's, good time. Some will be subtle, some will be painfully obvious. And effective.

Remedy: Since she can come in at any angle, with any attack -- and go from mildly annoyed, to full-on Bitch Queen in a heartbeat -- she's tricky to deal with. Again, a willing and able wingman is your best bet, keeping her busy while you work your magic. (Starting to see why having a reliable wingman is so invaluable?) And if he is unavailable, start showing her some attention, get her involved in the conversation and fun, because like the Mother Hen and Debbie Downer, all she craves is some attention too. And not to feel like she's going to be the last woman standing. Alone.

Cirque du Soleil wants to recreate Michael Jackson's Neverland Ranch in Sin City. The Mandalay Bay hotel-casino on the Las Vegas Strip plans to open a sprawling entertainment complex that includes a Jackson-themed lounge, an interactive memorabilia museum and a theater designed to replicate the iconic refuge of the deceased musical legend, Cirque du Soleil president Daniel Lamarre said Wednesday.

"This place, Mandalay Bay, is going to become the home of Michael Jackson in many, many ways," he said at an announcement at the casino attended by Jackson's older brother, Jackie. John Branca, co-executor of Michael Jackson's estate, said the attraction will offer fans a permanent place to celebrate, as well as give them the opportunity to see some of the objects displayed at Neverland Ranch. "Very few fans would ever get to visit Michael's Neverland Ranch because of its remote location," he said.

Plans for the Las Vegas lodestone, set to open in 2013, are part of the budding business relationship between the acrobatic troupe and the pop star's estate. Cirque du Soleil's homage to Jackson kicks off in October, with the most

expensive show in the French company's history. The $57 million "Michael Jackson, The Immortal World Tour" will open in Montreal and hit 30 cities including New York, Miami, Philadelphia, Los Angeles and Las Vegas.

The tour's Las Vegas stop at Mandalay Bay will kick off with a fan convention in December as a preview to the permanent Jackson attraction. Concept art for the touring show's set prominently features a massive tree symbolic of a favor-ite oak that was outside Jackson's Neverland bedroom. The singer nicknamed it the Giving Tree and had a perch built atop it where he wrote music and some-times slept.

For Jackson's "Thriller," tombstones overwhelm the set in a nod to the music video's horror-film motif and gyrating zombies. Excerpts from Jackson's music videos will be part of the 90-minute show, with no specific performer represent-ing Jackson. "Immortal" will also feature as-yet-unreleased songs that Jackson finished before his death in 2009.

The tour then goes to Europe, Lamarre said, while Cirque producers open a more intimate, theatrical show at the new Las Vegas theater. Jackson's estate and Cirque will each own 50 percent of both projects and share equally in the cost of putting on the productions.

Tour director Jamie King said he searched for acrobats, dancers and musicians from across the world who could capture Jackson's spirit and showmanship. "I feel like I am not doing it alone, I feel like I am doing it with Michael as my co-director all the way," said King, who has directed concert tours for Madonna, Rihanna and Celine Dion and is a former Jackson back-up dancer.

Jackson admired the Canadian troupe's work and attended Cirque shows in Los Angeles and Las Vegas. His support, Lamarre said, helped build the company. Cirque du Soleil has since become as ubiquitous on the Las Vegas Strip as all-you-can-eat buffets or buzzing slot machines, with shows in recent years honoring Elvis Presley, Celine Dion and the Beatles.

Mandalay Bay, long home to Disney's The Lion King musical, has never hosted a Cirque show before.Mandalay Bay President Chuck Bowling said the Jackson attraction will strengthen the casino's financial health in future years.

The theatrical performance will take over The Lion King stage when that show closes in December, and some venues in the casino will have to be relocated to accommodate the mega attraction. Lamarre said the changes will be permanent. "The tradition here is our shows last forever," he said.

The Strokes are busy working on their fifth album -- a potential quick follow-up to this year's "Angles" -- but don't expect to hear any of the new material from the band during an assortment of forthcoming festival dates.

"There's nothing that would be ready to play," guitarist Albert Hammond, Jr. told Billboard.com during a conference call with reporters for this year's Bonnaroo Music Festival, where the Strokes will perform in June. "We have songs that you can tell are gonna be good ones (that) we're all excited to play. I don't know if we're the kind of band that would ever play something new before it came out, just the way the Internet works and people recording it. I think even if we had the whole record done, we wouldn't play it 'til the album was out."

Hammond's bandmates Nick Valensi and Nikolai Fraiture recently revealed that the group was back in the studio again after leaving a five-year gap between 2006's "First Impressions of Earth" and "Angles." Fraiture tweeted that he's "super excited to go in to the studio today and work on some new ideas! I'll keep you posted...For The Strokes, of course!" He also included a photo of the group setting up gear in the studio.

Hammond said that the Strokes' decision to take a more spaced-out and surgical approach to touring in support of "Angles" has allowed the group to get back to work sooner on fresh material. "I think the way we've been able to do some of this touring this year, with bigger gaps than we've usually had, we've been able to organize some writing sessions, and it's just kinda getting in and exploring some stuff we didn't finish last time, new songs, all kinds of stuff." Despite tensions leading up to "Angles," Hammond added "every-thing's been really good for a while" within the group. "Being on stage with everyone is a feeling I can't really explain," he said. "It's something else. It's something very, very amazing. The best way to put it is I feel blessed to be able to even experience it."There's no timetable for completing and releasing the fifth album, however.

Stevie Nicks says it wasn't her intention to take a decade between solo albums. Nicks -- whose "In Your Dreams," the follow-up to 2001's "Trouble in Shangri-La," comes out May 3 tells Billboard.com that she was ready to start work on a solo set in 2005 after touring with Fleetwood Mac. "I was definitely ready to do a record," Nicks recalls, "but the powers that be, the people that surrounded me, pretty much said, 'Don't bother. It's not a good time. The music business is in a terrible place. There's no money, and the Internet piracy is taking over.'

I didn't know what to say, because I'm not a com-puter person and I don't have a computer and I don't Facebook or whatever. So I just said, 'OK.' If I hadn't been so exhausted from 135 shows I might have fought back on that a little, but I just didn't."The wait may have been worthwhile, however. Nicks calls making "In Your Dreams" with producer Dave Stewart (along with Glen Ballard) "the best year of my life" and refers to the new album as "my own little 'Rumours.'" The trio recorded the 13-track set at a house Nicks owns in Los Angeles, and though she has mostly written alone in the past, Nicks collaborated with Stewart on seven of "In Your Dreams' " songs.

"We wrote the song 'You May Be the One,' and my eyes instantly opened and I understood why Paul McCartney and John Lennon wrote together -- because they each had something the other didn't have," explains Nicks, who gave Stewart a binder of 40 poems before they started working together. "And with Dave and me, he had thousands of chords and this amazing musical knowledge, and I had thou-sands of pages of poetry and I know six chords. It was like an amazing little meeting of the minds, and I immediately went, 'Well this is just great!' "

Some of the songs on "In Your Dreams" date back a ways in Nicks' life, including the first single, "Secret Love," which she wrote in 1975 about a love affair, and "Moonlight," which she also started in the mid-70s but finished after seeing the "Twilight: New

Moon" film in 2009. Other collaborators on the album include guitarist Waddy Watchtel, Mike Campbell of Tom Petty's Heartbreakers and Mick Fleetwood, while Nicks called upon Lindsey Buck-ingham to perform on and help her finish "Soldiers Angel," which she says "is truly my most sacred and revered song."

"We recorded it live and did some harmonies, and then he did some little lead guitar things and it was perfect," Nicks says. "There's no other players, just me and him. Not only did we create something that's probably as Buckingham Nicks as we have been since 1973, but... I think that song really brought Lindsey and I back together. He said to me as he was leaving on that second day, 'I feel like we're closer than we've been in 30 years.' It certainly opens a lot of doors."

When she'll go through them remains to be seen, however. She and Stewart filmed the "In Your Dreams" sessions; the footage appears in the "Secret Love" video and will be used in other ways down the line, and Nicks hopes "to go all over the world with this record." She adds that touring with Rod Stewart, as she did earlier this year, "might end up being done again because it did go very well."

And Nicks predicts Fleetwood Mac isn't done, though the group will have to wait for her and "In Your Dreams" as well as Buckingham and his forthcoming album "Seeds We Sow," which is due in September and which Nicks says is "really my favorite thing he's ever done -- and I wish he had saved all these amazing songs for Fleetwood Mac."

"When ('In Your Dreams') runs out of gas, as all records eventually do, then possibly Fleetwood Mac will regroup and do another thing -- whether it's a record or a tour, I don't know," Nicks says. "Or maybe Lindsey and I will go off and rent a house in Wales and do a Buckingham Nicks album. I have no idea, but I do know the music will continue."

Michael Rapaport will be hitting the road this summer with his documen-tary on hip-hop legends A Tribe Called Quest, "Beats, Rhymes & Life: The Travels of A Tribe Called Quest." The roll out across the country starts July 8 in New York City and Los Angeles. "I'll be all over the place wherever they want to send me," says Rapaport, a first-time director with more than 20 years of acting credits, among them "True Romance," "Mighty Aphrodite" and the TV series "Prison Break." The film, a Sony Pictures Classics release, will play another 32 cities as it is released to a handful of theaters at a time. "Beats, Rhymes & Life" will play San Francisco, Chicago and Washington, D.C., on its second week, San Diego, Boston, Philadelphia, Minneapolis and Atlanta beginning July 22. The current run ends Aug. 12 when it premieres in 10 cities, among them New Orleans, Indianapolis and Pitts-burgh. The film will be screened Wednesday (Apr. 27) at the Tribeca Film Festival. A fan of A Tribe Called Quest since its first recordings in 1989, Rapaport decided the band was worthy of a documentary while he was watching it perform in 1998 at New York's Tramps nightclub. In 2006, while attending a reunion show at L.A.'s Wiltern Theatre, he decided he was the one to do it, financing it with his own credit cards. "There was no time to wait," he said. "As an actor I have been a part of so

many movies that seem like they are about to fall apart. The indie filmmak-ers who inspire me are the ones who go and do it, no matter what that means. Fortunately since then I have received (some financing)." Using performances and interviews from the 2008 Rock the Bells festivals that they headlined, the four members of A Tribe Called Quest trace their history from the borough of Queens to the formation of the group in 1988 and the release of five albums between 1990 and 1998. Considered the most artistically ambitious rap group of the 1990s, "Beats, Rhymes & Life" is also the title of Tribe's only No. 1 album on the Billboard Top 200. Since the film's debut at the Sundance Film Festival three months ago, Tribe leader Q-Tip has sent out mixed messages about the film, saying he had problems with it and that ATCQ fans should go see it. "The differences Tip had, I think, came down to the fact that he's an artist and a perfectionist who is always in control," Rapaport says, calling ATCQ the "Rolling Stones and Led Zeppelin of first generation hip-hop." "He was the leader of Tribe. But I'm making the movie and I have to make the final decisions. He's accustomed to making all of the decisions. I have thought about it a lot and if somebody made a movie as interpersonal as this about me, I don't know that I'd be pleased with someone else making the decisions. To me, it's a love letter to the band."
