TODAY marks another mile-stone in the real estate busi-ness here in Davao City as

homegrown Felcris Hotels and Re-sorts Corporation holds its blessing and inauguration for Felcris Cen-trale.

Nestled in a 5.9-hectate lot along Quimpo Boulevard in Barangay Bu-cana, Felcris Centrale is a major proj-ect of the Yap family, who commit-ted to invest around P5 billion for the entire project.

Felcris Centrale boasts of a 12-storey commercial complex with a 10-floor office space and a two-level retail and entertainment center complete with supermarket, boutiques, restaurants and shops. The project covers more than 54,000 square meters of floor area.

After this afternoon’s event, Felcris Centrale will have its grand opening tomorrow, February 18.

What makes Felcris Centrale one dynamic project is its accessibility

to neighboring business establish-ments, government offices and resi-dential areas.

The flagship project was made possible after Felcris Hotels and Re-sorts Corporation was incorporated to engage in real-estate develop-ment in 2012.

The Yap family also pioneered the convenience store industry in Davao by establishing the Davao Central Convenience Store, Inc. back in 1997.

The City Tourism Operation’s Of-fice lauded the Yap family for build-ing Felcris Centrale.

“We congratulate Felcris Cen-trale , its owners and management for opening another homegrown brand that is sure to be known in-ternationally as it will add options to the retail and entertainment scene,” CTOO head Lisette Marques said.

“But, most of all, another site for BPO locators which Davao is known for,” Marques added.

President Benigno Aquino himself has tout-ed the city’s growth, an-choring it on the rest of the island-region’s per-formance.

In a speech during the Philippine Business for Social Progress (PBSP) meeting and launch of the Mindanao Inclusive Agribusiness Program last September at SMX Davao, the President spoke high-ly of Mindanao’s “great potential.”

“Mindanao is our country’s top source of rubber, cacao, pineapple, banana, coffee, and co-conut. Over 40 percent of our food supply and more than 30 percent of the produce we trade domes-tically come from Min-danao – not to mention its strong contribution to our fisheries production,” he told the more than 500 business leaders who at-tended the meeting.

“Most important of all, however, is the fact that Mindanao has a people

determined to succeed,” he added.

The people’s deter-mination – often despite great odds that would have defeated those with fainter hearts – has meant great things for Mindan-ao in general and Davao City in particular.

Davao City, in fact, was named fourth most com-petitive city in the coun-try in the 2014 National Competitiveness Council (NCC)’s Cities and Munic-ipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI) released middle of last year.

And with the phe-nomenal growth, the city’s landscape is start-ing to change rapidly. Over the last two de-cades it has seen more and more development in many areas, and its citi-zens are reaping the ben-efits of investments that have pushed the econ-omy higher and given the people more buying power with their hard-earned income.

THE Yap family was hailed for building Felcris Cen-trale, the latest addition

to the ever-growing real estate development in Davao City.

Davao City Tourism Op-erations Office (CTO) chief Lissette Marques said Felcris Centrale is one project Davao can be proud because of its distinct style from other malls.

“We congratulate Felcris Centrale , its owners and man-agement for opening another homegrown brand that is sure to be known internationally as it will add options to the retail and entertainment scene,” Marques said. “But, most of all, another site for BPO locators which Davao is known for.”

Felcris Cenrale, a major de-velopment project of home-grown Felcris Hotels and Resorts Corporation, will have its blessing and inauguration this afternoon.

The grand opening of the project, which sits on a 5.9-hectare lot along Quim-po Boulevard in Barangay Bucana, will be tomorrow,

February 18.Davao City Chamber of

Commerce and Industry Inc. (DCCCII) president An-tonio dela Cruz also lauded the management of Felcris Centrale for constructing the mall.

“We congratulate the Felcris Group for their grand opening of Felcris Quimpo,” Dela Cruz said. “This is a mani-festation of their trust and confidence to the city govern-ment.

Marques said the com-pletion of Felcris Central also means new job opportunities for the people of Davao City.

“We see that the archi-tectural design is something unique and reflective of Davao icons, as the Yap family is helping slowly changing Davao City’s skyline,” the CTOO head said.

“We expect that this new entrant will support new job opportunities, new innova-tion and a venue for home-grown brands to make it big like the Felcris brand,” she added.
