CONCLUSIONSEau Claire Municipal Well Field
• In 1994, VOCs in Wells 11, 15, 16, and 17 showedsignificant decreases caused by the plume blocking effect ofpumping Well 19. VOCs are not detected in Well 10.
• VOCs are consistently below MCLs in the air stripper| influent (Wells 10, 11, 15, 16, 17, and 19). Therefore, the
air stripper currently provides a fail-safe only.
| • After 5 years of pumping Well 19 continuously, VOCs in. Wells 11, 15, 16, and 17 will be non-detect and will not
require air stripping.I•^ • After 5 years, air stripping will only be needed for well 19,. which would only require one of the two stripping towers.
I • The air stripper can treat more than 10,000 gpm (14.4 mgd)• at the current VOC concentrations, which would permit the. addition of wells in any area of the plume to meet future
