    3. Students should be following along while listening and watching and taking notes in their

journals. They will be required to list 5 interesting facts they learned from the videos.

    4. Next we will discuss as a class what the responsibilities of a state governor are and stop topose and answer questions

    5. Lastly each student will write a short letter to Governor Sandoval expressing any concernsthat they may have and thanking him for his service.

    5. Ask questions as an ongoing check for understandingFocus on these questions:

Who is our state governor? What qualifications do you have to have to become Governor? How long is the term length of the Governor?

    6. Closure: Discuss key concepts of who the governor is and what his responsibilities to the

    state are.

    G. Assessment:

What will you use to measure student understanding?Write a journal entry identifying who our Governor is and what he does.

Explain how you will know students understand the concepts from the lesson. If students are able to identify the mayor and describe his basic responsibilities I will

    know they understand..

    H. Reflection:1. Which part of the lesson do you th ink wi ll be the easiest for you to teach?

I think the easiest part of the lesson will be teaching them who the governor is.

    2. Which part wil l be most challenging for you to teach? The most challenging part will be in making the lesson interesting in my opinion. This was the hardest and probably the most bare plan I have written and itshowed me that there will be certain mandatory things that are hard to dress up.

    3. How wil l you foll ow up or extend this lesson?I could have students use there Learning about my state worksheet to extend theirknowledge to our other state officials and representatives.

    4. What will you do for students who dont grasp the concepts?I would have these students work with peer tutors or if there are multiple then Iwould sit down with them and work with them one on one..

    5. Which part of the lesson, if any, do you thi nk might need to change?Looking back I think I would make the lesson focus on not only the Governor but

also work in the other state level offices.

    6. When you were writi ng thi s lesson plan, what was the most dif fi cult part?It was extremely difficult to find any hands on activities that would alleviate thelarge amount of listening and note taking. I would love ideas on activities that

would have made this a meatier lesson.
