mentioned earlier, and these have abundant resources. I also have

many other texts, fellow colleagues, and the internet that I refer to.

You will see some of my resources listed in my plans under TS (teach-

er strategy) or listed as TW (teacher will) follow.

    5. How does your planning and preparation reflect ademonstration of your design of coherent instruction?Where would I see this in you lesson plans? I have learnedmany instructional strategies through my education, colleagues, the

internet, and trainings at my school. When planning, I have a plethora

to choose from! I know when and where to include different strategies

and when to use whole group, small group, partners, or independent

work. In my plans, you will see direct instruction, modeling, whole

group, small group, guided, and independent practices. I have found

that using Kagan cooperative learning strategies is most engaging tomy students and give the best results. These strategies are listed under

KS (Kagan Strategy) in my plans.

    6. How does your planning and preparation reflect ademonstration of your assessment of student learning?Where would I see this in you lesson plans? Everything weteach is based on some sort of assessment. I use formative and sum-

mative assessments. You will see summative assessments listed in my

plans in the form of tests and quizzes, but formative you will not asthis is something I just do throughout my lessons as needed. I am al-

ways assessing and using those assessments to guide my instruction.

You may see on my printed plans that I have had to make adjustments

for certain lessons when I see that the students need more time/prac-

tice or that I need to try teaching the concept in another way.
