Christleton and Huntington

From where the Wrexham Road joins the A55, the border moves West along the A55 for 3km to the Welsh border at Bretton Wood. It follows the border Southwest, bending round Lower Kinnerton to include it, then crossing country Southeast to Stringers Brook then following that East into Pulford Brook and Old Pulford Brook to the River Dee. It follows this North to the Crook of Dee where it proceeds East on Powsey Brook for 500m then zigzags North on field boundaries to Sandy lane then East before County Council Smallholding 3 where it turns East along Ridges Lane, continuing the line along field edges to Whitchurch Road North of Hatton Lodge then proceeding on field edges eastwards to include Milners Heath and as far as Guy Lane Brook. It follows that North onto Martin’s Lane and continuing the direction to Guy Lane which it follows East to the River Gowy which it follows North to just North of the A51 where it turns West across fields and eventually on a drain, to include the properties on the A51 as far as Hare Lane where it turns back onto the A51 route and continues West to the A41. It follows that South to Caldy Brook then follows that West to the River Dee then Follows that South to just South of Heronbridge Cottage where it turns West to include Heronbridge Cottage until Wrexham Road then follows that South to where it joins the A55.

The border runs from there the A556 crosses the Middlewich to Northwich railway line the follows the A556 Southwest. At the junction with the A533 it follows that North and continues onto London Road which it follows until turning Northwest onto Dobells Road. At the end of that it follows garden fences North to the other arm of Dobells Road then turning West onto the A533 which it follows South to Monarch Drive then follows the Southern border of Sir John Deane’s College until it meets the River Weaver. It follows this South as far as level with Meadowbank where it turns East running North of Smokehall Lane Industrial Estate to the junction of the A5018 and the A533. It parallels the A533 then and travels East, keeping about 50m South then West as the road bends until past Old Hall Farm, where it veers East and follows a stream into the River Dane. It follows this North for 1km before Turning East across to the railway line then follows this North until it crosses Puddinglake Brook which it follows East to the A530 and follows North to Marshall’s Gorse, where it follows Gad Brook West to the Middlewich to Northwich railway line which it follows to the A556.

It then follows a drain Southward until about 1.2km North of Worthenbury before turning East at Broughton Gorse and cutting across fields to the Southern end of Chorlton Lane. It runs North to exclude the properties on Chorlton Lane then continues across fields to the Southern end of Scar Lane then runs North and including Higher Carden and Clutton before following Holywell Brook for 5km then Golborne Brook North and continuing to Platt’s Lane which it follows East to the A41 then North for 1.5 km then Northwest across fields and back to Sandy Lane.

Gowy Rural The Westernmost tip of the border is at junction 9 of the M53. It then follows the M53 Southeast to junction 10 then turns West along the A5117, diverting to include properties up to Rose Cottage on Stanney Lane then back down Stanney Lane but includes Ashlea and Stanney Oaks public house before continuing on the A5117 and including the properties on the A5117 up to the Strawberry roundabout then those south of the A5117 and 150 South down Whitby Lane then running East to Rake Lane then South until just past The Laurels then East around other properties and South parallel to Rake Lane then cutting across fields to Wervin Road South of Croughton Cottage and running South along Wervin Road for 300m then cutting Southeast until the M53 just West of the Hammond School. It turns Southwest to the A41 to include properties East of that between Upton Sports Club and the A51. It follows the A51 East to Hare Lane then along Hare Lane before turning East and excluding properties on Tarvin Road to the River Gowy then South across A51 and East following the line of the Roman Road to Tarvin Sands. It bends North to exclude the nurseries and Northeast to include Greenacres Farm then at Salters Brook follows that Northwest for 350m then Northeast along a track and when that ends due North to Nortons lane and follows that Northwest to Dunham Heath but excludes that and turns West onto Morley Lane and follows that and includes Morleybridge then turns North across fields to Hob Lane West of Hob Lane Farm and continuing North to the M56 then following that Northeast to the railway then North on Hornsmill Brook which it follows North through Hoolpool Gutter on the marshes and North out to the River Mersey, where it follows the centre line for 5km West before turning inland to Junction 9 of the M53.

Malpas The Southwest tip of the border is South of Threapwood where the road to Tallarn Green crosses Wych Brook. It follows Wych Brook East past Lower Wych and Higher Wych then continues East on Grindley Brook over the A41 and then onto the Shropshire Union Canal until 700m East of Quoisley Bridge House until crossing fields North to include Bickley Moss but exclude Norbury Common, then East of Bickley Moss it turns Northwest keeping South of Bickerton Road then South of Castle Farm it turns Southwest for about 2km then turns Northwest across fields South of Bickerton to the top of Larkton Hill where it turns South for 1.7 KM across fields then on Coach Road hen turns West to join a stream passing through Randall’s Rough and the Heir’s Wood and across fields until it joins another stream. It follows this South across Grange Lane and South across fields between Whitewood lane and Meadows Lane to the Southern end of Chorlton Lane. It turns Southwest until Broughton Gorse and the Welsh border then follows Flennen’s Brook Southeast to the B5069 then runs South to include Threapwood and back to where the road to Tallarn Green crosses Wych Brook.

The Westernmost tip of the border is at Stamford Bridge, 80m South of the junction of the A51 and Barrow Lane where tow drainage ditches meet. It follows one South past Stamford Mill then along a ditch West onto the River Gowy which it follows South until it turns East onto Waterless Brook until that meets the road to Burton then follows that South and onto Leadgate Lane to its end then East across country for 2.8km then turns North, turning East after passing West of Utkinton and proceeding to the A49. It follows this North, diverting to include properties South of Sandiway, being Overdale, kennel Cottage and Woodrough then continuing on the A49 to just after Forest Road Park, where it runs Northwest across fields to the railway line which it follows West to Cheese Hill Lane then follows that North until it crosses Small Brook then follows that West to just after Gallowsclough Lane then it continues West but moves around Hatchmere to exclude it. On Ashton Road it follows the road West then at the railway line it turns South across country then onto Longley Lane, West on the A54 and leaving it and bending North to include Tarvin Sands before reaching Stamford Bridge.

Past Rycroft Lane it parallels the Lane to the North of it and moving West but then turning South to join Martin’s Lane which it follows South then continuing on Guylane Brook until it joins the Shropshire Union Canal and Long Lane. It follows that West, then Southwest to encompass Milners Heath until it reaches the Whitchurch Road. It follows that South. At Platt’s lane it follows that West for 1km then follows a stream South until it joins Golbourne Brook which it follows South to Coddington Brook which it follows East then diverts East onto Mere Brook. Halfway between Aldersey Green and Chowley it turns off and heads South to Holywell Brook which it follows Southeast then continues beyond Hook’s Brook until another stream. It follows streams heading East through heir’s Wood and Randall’s Rough and continuing as far as Larkton House. It then follows Coach Road North and cuts across country, including Brown Knowl, Fuller’s Moor, Harthill, Higher Burwardsley, Beeston, Tilstone Fearnell before reaching Winterford Lane which it follows to its junction with Oxheys Lane.

The Westernmost tip of the border is at the roundabout of the High Street and Swanlow Lane. From there it moves East along High Street to the River Weaver, which it follows South through the middle of Bottom Flash, turning West after 1.2km to encompass the caravan Park then turning North until it meets Stocks Hill then running West and progressing North of Church Hill Farm but South of the houses off Redwing Street and Siskin Close. It turns Northwest and excludes the houses on Swanlow Lane by running across their back fences then follows Townfileds Road to Swanlow Lane which it follows North to the roundabout with the High Street.

At the junction of A54 and River Weaver, the border runs South through Bottom Flash and then along the Weaver to Weaver bank Wood, where it turns Southeast and follows a drainage ditch to the Railway line. It then turns generally Northeast until meeting Hoggins Brook which it follows East until the River Wheelock then follows that North until the River Dane flows from it. It follows that Northwest for 800m then cuts across country West to Bostock Road South of Oldhall Farm. It continues 50m beyond Bostock Road but then parallels it running Southeast until level with the junction of Birch Lane and the A533m where it veers West along field boundaries and following roads through the Winsford Industrial Estate including Road five, then road One then Road Two until the railway when it follows the track North. Level with Road Four it turns West onto Bradbury Road and continues West across Crook Lane and Around Christ Church to include it and West again to include all properties on Princess Street and South on Ledward Street then West on the Southern boundary of the recreation grounds, then South to include houses on Kingsway and Henley Drive and onto Station Road where it turns West and onto the A54 which it follows North to the A5018 bridge on the River Weaver.

It runs North on the A49 to the Whitegate Way then follows that Southeast to Kennel Lane and follows that North until before Kennel Cottage then runs East across fields to exclude Fox Hills but include Daleford Manor. It continues East along a stream then continuing, veering North to include Vale Farm and joining the A556. It follows that East until a layby when it turns South to follow the Riddings stream Southward to the River Weaver. It follows that South to the Winsford Bridge then West on the A54 to its roundabout with Swanlow lane then including the United reformed Church and running down Handley Hill and the footpath from the junction with Beeston Drive which it follows Southwest past Over Hall School then follows garden fences to include houses on Llandovery Close and across Dover Lane to include houses on Radcliffe Road and around the Old Spot Way estate, turning West around that following fields to Chesterlane Brook which it follows North as it becomes Shay’s Brook back to Longstone Lane.

At the start of the road to Church House Farm it runs at field edges Northeast, and includes Church Hill Farm and across to Stocks Hill, excluding Ways Hill Farm and Yachtshaven before turning South before the mobile home park and proceeding East beyond it and onto Bottom Flash. It continues to the River Weaver and follows that South until ash Brook issues into it. It Follows Ash Brook West until just past Swanlow Lane where it turns away South then West to take in Hilltop Farm, Fields Farm and Bankside Farm before bending Northwest to Hall lane then North as far as Darleys Brook, which it follows East for 100m then turning Northeast to Townfields Estate. It runs South of houses on Radcliffe Road but takes in houses on Caernarfon Avenue and Over Hall School then follows a path to the North which 31Handley Hill. It follows this Northwest to Oak House Lane then turns Northeast around the United Reformed Church and back toward the roundabout.

The Easternmost tip of the border is at the junction of Winnington Road and Burrows Hill. It moves West then North onto the River Weaver and follows that North then West. It includes Primrose Cottage West of Acton Bridge. It continues following the Weaver Navigation West to the Stable Meadow pipe then west along that then south through Crewood Hall and due South avoiding Whitehouse farm and through Higher Hayes Farm until Beech Lane then heading West to Norley Road then West across fields until before Waterloo when it turns South and follows the East border of Delamere Forest. It cuts across the forest to include Hatchmere and properties on Blakemere Lane then East along Small Brook to Cheese Hill Lane then South to the Chester to Manchester railway. It follows that East to Forest Road then South, excluding Brackenhurst and Kennel Cottage then moves East excluding Daleford and following a drain to Petty Pool. It then moves North across fields until a dismantled railway line around Weaverham back to Wallerscote Road.
