1. Go to the EdTechProfile site http://www2.edtechprofile.org/index.php (there is also

a link on the class blog if this doesn’t work!)

2. Select Create Account

3. Choose the following settings from the first screen, then click the Save My School

button:

4. On the next screen you will select certificated teacher (if you are clearing your

credential) or student enrolled in teacher credential program (For most everyone in

this course!) if you are not currently a teacher. Even though you are probably not acertificated teacher yet, you will be completing the survey “as if” you were already in theclassroom. Click the Save Staff Position button.

5. On the next screen, you will be choosing a subject and grade level that you would like

to teach (you can select more than one). Again, this probably is not true of you . . .Yet!

Click the Done button at the bottom right hand corner when you are finished.

6. The next screen will ask you about your demographic information. When you create a

4 digit ID and password, please put it on the passwords page in the password file located

on your mass storage device. You will be revisiting this survey at the end of thesemester!!

Click the Save Changes button when you are finished.

7. You will then be asked to create a clue question and answer in case you forget your



password (of course, you won’t ever need this)

Click Save Password Question button when you are finished.

8. Once this is completed, you will receive a confirmation of your account creation.Review the information and don’t forget your ID or password!!

Once reviewed, click the Enter into EdTech Profile button.

9. Once into the EdTechProfile, take the Technology Assessment Profile!!

The color-coded status section will allow you to see your current progress.



10. After completing the assessment profile (it will take around 30 minutes to complete),select the Profile Report button. If it does not come up immediately after completing the

survey, it will be found in the My Technology Profile tab.

11. Under the History tab, select the View Chart highlighted text. This should give you arepresentation of your progress in a chart.

12. You will be taking a screen shot (control-shift-apple-4) of your information

represented as a graph. The screen shot will be on your clipboard so you will not see it.You will open a new document in Microsoft Word, click on the Edit section in the top

menu bar and then select “paste”. You should see your screenshot as a picture on your

document. Place your name, course number & meeting time, and date above or belowthe picture of your graph. You must include your name in the screen shot (otherwise,

you will not receive credit!)

13. Submit the saved Word document in webCT!! Don’t forget the .doc extension.
