Reflective Journal -Due Unit 8
The reflective decision maker draws upon knowledge of diverse learners,
knowledge of academic content and pedagogy, knowledge of assessment, and
knowledge of professional responsibilities and relationships when making
professional decisions and when considering the effects of his or her actions
and behaviors on learning. The reflective decision maker is able to articulate
a solid rationale for his or her choices in terms of teaching practices and
professional actions, based on the four key areas of professional knowledge.
Use the artifact: Assessment and Accountability Assignment will be the basis
of your Reflective Journal for this course.
Reflective Journal
There are 4 paragraphs for this assignment:
Paragraph 1: Introduce your artifact. (3-4 sentences)
Paragraph 2: Label your discussion -Improvement in Practice: Using course theory and independent research, describe how your practice has been improved. The artifact, Assessment and Accountability written assignment, should demonstrate your deep understanding of concepts/strategies and your improved knowledge, skills and behaviors.
Paragraph 3: Label your discussion -Mastery of Program Competencies: The artifact, Assessment and Accountability written assignment, addresses #3 and #4 competencies of the MSE Program. Thoroughly describe how the artifact displays your mastery of the specific program competencies.
Paragraph 4: Label your discussion -Impact on Student Learning: Reflect on how your learners clearly exhibit vast improvement in critical thinking skills, subject matter and/or behavior. Describe how the Assessment and Accountability written assignment documents evidence of specific tools used to show a positive impact on learning in the short- or long-term. The artifact proves a direct relationship between practice and impact.

assessment tool for a related set of learning targets in your classroom, place of work, or wherever you help others to learn.

What must each paragraph contain? Each paragraph must introduce the
section of the report. Describe in detail the material You must provide evidence
(documentation) for your ideas in the paragraph.
