    DISPLAY SURFACE NORMALSWhen I was trying to d o the radiation o n fa ad es, I had som e issues be c ause o f the d irec tion of the surfac es,so I reversed the no rma ls just in the surfac es that I wa nted to c alc ulate.

    SURFACE SUBDIVISION

    In order to have a p roper faad e calculation, I subd ivide the m first.Using: Mo d ify/Surfac e subdivision/ Rec ta ng le tiles, and I offset them just a little b it.

    SOLAR RADIATIONAfter reversing the normals, the faades were ready to calculate. I tried spe cified pe riod of time first but itwas taking too much time, so at the end I selected the current day choice. At step 6, under surface

    sampling: Low 1pt and for sky subdivision: low 10x10, and checked use fast calculation method.

    GRID SOLAR ANALYSISFirst display analysis grid/adjust grid to objects, choose around/selected objects/and OK. I was looking for acalculation around the block, so I went for adjust grid extents/manually adjust grid extents, and then I

    choose a sma ll grid spa c ing.

    Now, Ca lculate/ Solar a cc ess analysis/ Incide nt solar rad iation/c urrent d ay/ cumulative values/ Ana lysis grid(use full 3D extents for ana lysis grid)/ Perform d eta iled shading calc ulations, and then I choo se 1p t a nd 10x10.

    Click CFD Cell Blockages/Perform Calculation/select covered in Z.

    Once is do ne ca lc ulating go to the export manag er tab , c lick on winair4/export mod el da ta, a new window

    will app ea r, type wind spe ed and selec t wind d irec tion ac c ording to yo ur site, chec k the three first bo xes inthe bo ttom o f the window and then OK. May ta ke a while time to get a drink!

    After winair is do ne you will have to load the d ata . Go to the grid tab ag ain/c hec k loa d C FD/ c lic k loa d

    outp ut file, and selec t the fo lder where you p reviously save d the d ata .

    DONE!
