Ecosystem Governance Maintaining ecosystems for both nature and people
The “Ecosystem Governance Journey” will take participants through a series of events, showcasing the work of the IUCN Members, Secretariat, Commissions and partners in ecosystem governance (EG). The journey follows the first World Forum on Ecosystem Governance, held in China in 2015, which explored alternative approaches to govern the world's ecosystems. As the concept continues to evolve, there is a need for discussion on what actions can be undertaken to move forward and contribute to the Sustainable development goals in an effective manner. You are invited to embark on this Journey to discover and share your ideas!

Ecosystem Governance Ecosystem Governance (EG) provides an inclusive approach that better connects the social system with the ecological system to improve conservation of biodiversity and ecosystem health for human well-being. With proper ecosystem governance, decision making, action and strategy are designed by a transparent, devolved system in which all actors participate, from civil society and private sectors to governmental institutions. As the concept continues evolving, there is a need for discussion on what actions can be undertaken to move forward and contribute to the new Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in an effective manner. Follow the Journey to discover and share your ideas!
