INVITATION

Dear colleagues,

We are pleased to invite you to this first international seminar focusing on environmental technologies applied to spreading of mineral and organic matters.

Why an ECOSPREAD Seminar ?

As life cycle thinking makes analyses from “cradle to grave”, to innovate in spreading technologies need to study the issues “from matters to be spread to spreaders in their environment”, by using skills synergy, skills which are not used to work together.

ECOSPREAD will take place in Vichy and Montoldre in France, region of Auvergne, department of Allier, at the beginning of October 2007. After presenting the up-to-date European and French public policies dealing with environmental technologies applied to spreading, the seminar will discuss the state of the art in the characterization of matters to be spread, in the scientific advances of environmental technologies applied to spreading, and in the information systems for the optimization of spreading processes.

Last but not the least, workshops with industrial partners will be set up for participants to tackle the most recent innovation trends in the environmental technologies of spreading.

We expect to receive participation of two kinds of public : Scientific people who want to present papers and to share theirs knowledges – professional people of industrial companies and advisory services who want to keep themselves informed of new means of evaluation and eco-innovations.

For this seminar especially on applied eco-design concept, to be “CO2 neutral” is a basis requirement and we will join this system of subscription.

The organizing committee,

SCIENTIFIC AND TECHNICAL PROGRAM

It will be presented by keynote speakers on following Keywords : Present and future regulations – EU Environmental Technologies Action Plan - Incentives for Eco-design and Eco-innovation – success stories with public partners - …

The following topics will concern more specifically scientific advances and will be considered for oral and poster presentations. Every session will be introduced in full session by one or two keynote speakers, followed by 2 or 3 parallel sessions with oral presentations.

2nd session : Characterisation of physical properties and behavior of spread materials. Keywords : Mechanics and physical behaviour analysis - Flow models - Measurement methodologies – natural evolution and pretreatment influence - …Introduced by Dr L. Spinoza (sludge european expert) and Prof. PCH. Miller (member of International Fertilizers Society)

3rd session : Innovative equipments regarding spreading issues. Keywords : Numerical simulation tools - Optimization and adaptation algorithms for adjustment of spreaders - Feed back processes for machinery control - Site specific spreading – New concepts and new technologies (robotics, etc.) beneficial to application logistics - …Introduced by Prof. A. Jongebreur (EurAgeng President)

4th session : Environmental assessment of spreading practises. Keywords : Automatic data recording tools - Data collection systems and data processing for spreading operations - Multi criteria evaluation of application scenarios - Ecodesign applied to broadcast technologies - ecolabels - …Introduced by Ademe : Environment French Agency – to be confirme

The third day will take place in Montoldre (20 min from Vichy), where Cemagref has developed a new research Centre for Environmentally Friendly Spreading, called PEE - Pole Epandage Environnement.Visit of research plant - Demonstration of Cemagref new testing facilities - Presentations of innovative and environmental sound equipment of industrials firms - Software implementation - …
