We are excited that the motion was unanimously approved by our Session, and the new 2013 Presbyterian Hymnal, Glory to God, will be introduced in worship on Pentecost Sunday, May 15, 2016. We are inviting members and friends of First Presbyterian to purchase as many hymnals as they would like at $20 per hymnal. Please contact Katie Law for further information: [email protected]. Flower Delivery Ministry
Did you know that the flowers that are in the sanctuary each week get broken down, and arranged in vases to take to homebound or
hospitalized members of FPC?We are looking for volunteers to deliver
flowers following worship. The Care office will provide maps and addresses for the recipients.
And we are also looking for someone to coordinate the volunteers.

WHIZ KIDS TUTORING MINISTRY NEEDS VOLUNTEERS
Are you interested in making a positive difference in the life of a child? The Whiz Kids Tutoring Min-istry needs additional volunteers to tutor elemen-tary school students in math or reading. Tutoring takes place on Wednesday afternoons from 2:15 to 3:45 at Snapfinger Elementary School which is located at 1365 Snapfinger Road in Deca-tur. If you are interested, or if you know anyone who is interested in tutoring a student in math or reading, please contact Granvette Matthews, the Whiz Kids Coordinator, at 404.228.7747 or at [email protected]. Volunteering just one hour per week can help make a significant difference in the academic life of a child who needs to develop basic math or reading skills.

MAUNDY THURSDAY DINNER & WORSHIP
The Meals on Wheels ministry is looking for additional substitute
volunteers to help deliver meals to the elderly and shut-ins. This pro-
gram helps ensure that the elderly who can’t get out or can’t handle
preparing their own meals get a nutritious meal delivered by a friend-
ly face. First Presbyterian has operated this program for over 30 years
and we are currently looking to add to our list of substitute volunteer
slots.
The service would be on a Monday, Wednesday or Friday morn-
ing beginning between 10:00 and 10:30. The volunteers pick up pre-
packed meals at our Meals on Wheels office near the church kitchen
and receive a list of recipients and the prepacked meals. The routes
are to elderly high-rise facilities in the Midtown and Buckhead areas
and take no more than two hours to navigate. You will only be deliver-
ing 10 or less meals to one location.
The routes are set up so drivers only have to make one stop and there is
no need to return to the church once the meals are delivered. For more

Prayer Shawl ministry
Informational Gathering

WHO: Iris Dodge & Katie Sundermeier are hosting this event as a beautiful way to begin Holy Week in the spiri-tual context of a Prayer Shawl Ministry. Join us if you are excited to restart our church’s Prayer Shawl Ministry with us, or if you simply would like to come and see what it is all about. This is for advanced knitters/crocheters, those who have not picked up needles be-
fore, and everyone in between.
WHERE: You are invited to join us af-ter worship in the Bridal Room located between the Chapel and Peachtree St.
WHAT: We will gather for lunch, learn about this meaningful ministry, and have some time to work on a Prayer Shawl or a small square to take with us through Holy Week. Bring needles and
yarn if you have them.
HOW: Please RSVP to Pam Parrish, [email protected], or call the church if you are able to come by 3/16. Childcare is available upon request. If you have any questions, reach out to
Katie or Iris.
First Presbyterian Preschool Camp Friendship regis-tration is now online. Beginning this summer, in addi-tion to our newly formatted camps for 2 – 7 year olds, we will also offer camps by Club SciKidz (ages 4 – 15), MODA (ages 5-7) and The Alliance Theater (rising 2nd and 3rd graders). YOUTH GROUP – SUNDAY MORNINGS Join us for Youth Group in March. Each Sunday morning, we’ll gather in B-111 for doughnuts, singing, and fellowship before breaking out into small groups. WE WILL NOT GATHER ON EASTER SUNDAY.
MIDDLE SCHOOL FRIDAY NIGHT FELLOWSHIP Friday, April 1 6:30-9:00pm No fooling around. Our next Middle School Friday Night Fellowship is scheduled for Friday, April 1st. Join us the first Friday of every month for food, fellowship, and fun. Location is TBD.
HIGH SCHOOL LUNCH BUNCH Sunday April 3 , high schoolers will have their next lunch outing . We’ll gather in B111 right after worship, pick a place and head out. Join us as we attempt to find the best lunch spot in Atlanta.

In America today, Christianity is not only encountered within the walls of churches or the confines of small group Bible studies. Rather, expressions of faith rou-tinely seep into popular culture, whether in the form of Bible bumper stickers, evangelistic tracks, mega-church billboards, or Christian theme parks. How can we understand and interact with these forms of “roadside religion”? What role do they play in shaping popular Christian beliefs? And how might a Presbyte-rian respond to these curious combinations of Chris-tianity and culture? This four-week series will explore these and other questions about the everyday artifacts of faith known as roadside religion.
