Remember now thy creatorRemember now thy creator

in the days of thy youth,in the days of thy youth,

while the evil days come not;while the evil days come not;



Nor the years draw nigh,Nor the years draw nigh,

when though shalt saywhen though shalt say

I have no pleasure in them;I have no pleasure in them;



While the sun or the light,While the sun or the light,or the moon, or the stars,or the moon, or the stars,

be not darkened;be not darkened;Nor the clouds returnNor the clouds return

after the rain.after the rain.



In the day when the keepersIn the day when the keepersof the house shall tremble;of the house shall tremble;

And the strong menAnd the strong menshall bow themselves;shall bow themselves;

And the grinders cease,And the grinders cease,because they are few;because they are few;



And those that lookAnd those that lookout of the windows be darkened;out of the windows be darkened;

And the doors shall be shutAnd the doors shall be shutin the streets, when the soundin the streets, when the sound

of the grinding is low;of the grinding is low;



And he shall rise upAnd he shall rise up

at the voice of the bird;at the voice of the bird;

And all the daughters of musicAnd all the daughters of music

shall be brought low.shall be brought low.



Also, when they shall be afraidAlso, when they shall be afraid

of that which is high;of that which is high;

And fearsAnd fears

shall be in the way;shall be in the way;



And the almond treeAnd the almond treeshall flourish;shall flourish;

And the grasshopperAnd the grasshoppershall be a burden;shall be a burden;

And desire shall fail.And desire shall fail.



Because man goethBecause man goeth

to his long home;to his long home;

And the mournersAnd the mourners

go about the streets;go about the streets;



Or ever the silver cord be loosed;Or ever the silver cord be loosed;Or the golden bowl be broken;Or the golden bowl be broken;

Or the pitcher be brokenOr the pitcher be brokenat the fountain;at the fountain;

Or the wheel broken at the cistern.Or the wheel broken at the cistern.



Then shall the dust returnThen shall the dust return

to the earth as it was,to the earth as it was,

And the spirit shall returnAnd the spirit shall return

unto God who gave it.unto God who gave it.
