s a homage to one o the most proli ic American architects o the late 19th - early 20th century, this design exhibits all the characteristics o Frank Lloyd Wright’s prairie school : Long, horizontalines, windows grouped in horizontal bands, and hipped roo s with broad overhanging eaves. A loorplan that is designed to integrate with nature is ac complished by extending the spaces outto be as much surrounded by nature as possible.

The design set forth aims to replace the Grove Plac e Studio site with a New, Four story Multi-use building witha strong connection to the existing Toledo Museum of Modern Art. The spaces and adjac encies planned out inthe design aims to distinguish public space from private space. The following design incorporates the use of proportion as well as Le Corbusier’s Five Points of Architec ture. In an effort to repate the proposed buildingwith the museum, a major component used in the design is the golden ratio. It is used as a homage to C lassicalGreek architecture, as the Neoclassical museum derived itself from a Greek revival.

In the wake of new ownership of a Super 8 Motel, I am commissioned to redesign the existing lobby in the fashionsuited to the new owners. In first meeting the client, I asked what was the program needed in the redesign of theproposal. A larger cafe, private managerial office, and improved visibility and circulation within the lobby inin terms of both the customer and the clerk. After considering the program, aesthetics was discussed as amajor factor in the renovation. The client requested the use of various materials to create a setting of higher

    standards for the business.
