Students of the Week!By: Hallie Cassady & Harley Meredith

The students of the week this week are 6th grader Josi Morrison and 5th grader Filiberto Perez Trujillo. We asked them a few things about themselves to get to know them and why they think they got chosen for “Student of The Week.”

Josi Morrison’s favorite hobby is basketball and softball. Her favorite subject in school is math. She thinks she got chosen because she works hard in school. Her favorite sport is softball and basketball. Her favorite TV show is Liv and Maddie. Her favorite teacher is Mr. Sailings. Last, but certainly not least she would rather have ice cream than cake.

Filiberto Perez Trujillo’s favorite hobby is football. His favorite subject in school is reading and math. He thinks he got chosen for working

hard in class. His favorite sports are basketball and football. His favorite teachers are Mrs. Nadina, Mrs. Andrea, and Mrs. Jessica. His favorite TV show is called Mexican TV show. He says he would rather have ice cream and cake.

Person of the Week!

The person we chose for person of the week is Mrs. Miranda. We decided to interview Mrs. Miranda to find out more about her and her job. We asked Mrs. Miranda 10 questions about her childhood and her present life. Here are the questions we asked Mrs. Miranda and the answers we got:Question 1: Do you like your job? Answer- “I do. I love my job.”

Question 2: What is or was your favorite subject in school? Answer- “Social Studies.”Question 3: What was your dream job when you were a kid? Answer- “Surgeon doctor.”Question 4: How many years have you worked here? Answer- “This is my 7th year here.”Question 5: If a student wanted to be a teacher, what advice would you give them? Answer- “Work hard in school, spend time with kids, and talk to other teachers.”Question 6: What or who inspired you to teach? Answer- “Students.”Question 7: Did you like school when you were a kid? Answer- “Sometimes.”Question 8: If you had to pick a different job, what would you be? Answer- “A surgeon or a rock star.”Question 9: How long did you go to college? Answer- “7 years.” Question 10: Were you nervous when you taught your first class? Answer- “Absolutely.”

Club News

Beta Club:There will be a definite meeting meeting at

the end of the month. Ms.Lydia has not yet talked with Mr.Tally on the date but we know that there will definitely be one by the end of the month.

For service projects, you need at least five hours of service. You will also need a signature of the one in charge stating that you helped.

For those of you who did not get a certificate on the night of the beta ceremony, then you need to get in touch with her soon.

Student Council:

There was a successful meeting this Friday. At the meeting they talked about more rewards for box tops, besides gym passes. They also talked about the next fundraiser, it will be selling roses for Valentine’s Day. (See picture below.)

Band:As we all know the band is in need of more

band members. There next band concert will be at the end of April or beginning of May after school. They are not sure which songs will be played at this time.

Academic Team:About the Academic team there next game

will be on January 19TH 2016.

As always there meetings are on Thursday and Tuesday for sixth grade and Monday.

In 2015, the official Diary of a Wimpy Kid Book 10, Old School was published.
