    Sathyabama University was established under section

    (3) of the UGC Act, 1956 which was formerly known as sathyabama

    Engineering College established by JEPPIAAR EDUCATIONAL TRUST in

    1987. It is a pioneer institute imparting knowledge in the areas of

    engineering, science, technology and education. The institutionsprogress and contribution in the field of technical education for over

    two decades made the ministry of Human Resources Development,

    Govt. of India to grant Deemed University status on 16th july,2001

    and University status on 13th September 2006 under section(3) of

    the UGC Act,1956.

    The University has excellent infrastructural facilities

    including modern laboratories, library with video, internet and othergeneral amentias. To its credit it has been declared as category A

    University by Ministry of Human Resource and Development (MHRD)

    and ISO 9001:2008 certifitfied for professional quality management.

    The University has undertaken various sponsored and collaborative

    Research and Development projects Funded by national organizations

    such as Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO), Department of

    Science and Technology (DST), Indira Gandhi Centre for Atomic

    Research (IGCAR),Defense Research and Development

    Organization(DRDO), National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT) ,

    Board of Research in Fusion Science and Technology (BRFST) ,

    Ministry of Environment and Forests (MOEF) etc,. The University

    holds great promise to expand the applications of space technology,

    benefiting the common man and enriching the quality of life in

    association with Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO. The

    University is successfully conducting non formal education

    programmes through 18 village Resource Centers (VRCs) all over the

    state.

    The department of Electronics and Control

    Engineering was started in the year 1993. The department offers

    full time U.G and P.G course. The department has excellent

    infrastructure facilities for promoting both students and staff. It

    has got full-fledged laboratories equipped with modern

    instruments as an effective and competent sources for thestudent to meet the current and future industrial requirements.

    The department has taken various sponsored collaborative R&D

    projects to its credit and many of the faculty members are

    pursuing research in various fields.

    The major aim of the work shop is to provide

    hands on training on real time PLC and SCADA. Theworkshop is intended to enrich the students and faculty

    members with the knowledge of PLC and SCADA designing.

    Both relay logic & ladder logic in PLC programming will be

    dealt. Interfacing of PLC with other PLC s and PID based PLC

    will also be handled. Practical sessions will be provided to

    get a better understanding of PLC programming.
