A large number of prospective investors, Office bearers of d嘩rent chamber of

COmmerCe and industries of Sri Lanka, aCademician, members of Federation of

Chamber ofCommerce and lndustries of Sri Lanka′ SAARC Women Entrepreneurs-

CounciI′ Prominent Media Houses and their representative attended the program.

The program was divided into‥ Forma- presentation′ OPen SeSSion for open

discussion and clarification of any issue to the audience foIIowed by cocktaiI and

dinner Reception.

In the beginning′ H. E・ Prof Bishwambher Pyakuryal welcomed the audience and

hig冊ghted about Nepalis current investment policy and interreIated policy

measures which could encourage Foreign lnvestment in Nepal. He a-so presented

existing trade and investment scenario of Nepal and Sri Lanka. 1t was foI-owed by,

SPeeCh by Mr. 」agath C Savanadasa′ President′ Sri Lanka NepaI Friehdship and

BusinessCounc= who described the role ofSri Lanka NepaI BusihessCounc汗in trade

PrOmOtion and tourism in Nepal.

Dr. Sirimal Abeyratne′ Professor of Economics, University of CoIombo aIso

hig帥ghted on the key sectors where both Sri Lanka and Nepal has to work out to

improve existing business and investment cIimate.

1t was foliowed by the address of・Mr. Ruwah Edirisinghe, President, Federatiorl Of

Chambさr ofCommerce and Industry in Sri Lanka and President, SAARC Chamberof

Commerce and Industries. During the address, Mr・ Edirisinghe encouraged the

audience to invest in Nepai as it has investmentfriend-ycljmate. Hefurtheradvised

the audience to use the strength ofeach SAARC memberstates to up-ift its existing

COndition by attracting investment and investing in the member states. He urged

the audience to make u帥zation of SDF (SAARC DeveIopment Fund) for meeting

decIared open. The queries from-a number of audience was addressed by a冊e

distinguished speakers during open session.
