    TERMS AND CONDITIONS

    1. Who can enter:The competition is open only to legal residents of Trinidad and Tobago who are 12 years or older at time of entry. Employees of the EMA, Forestry Division and the judges and their immediate families (spouse, parent, child, sibling and their respective spouses, regardless of where they live) or persons living in the same households of such individuals, whether or notrelated, are not eligible to enter or win a prize. Furthermore, members of the Nariva Swamp

    Restoration Projects (NSRPs) Community Based Organisations (CBOs) who are directlyemployed with the competition and their immediate families are also not eligible to enter.

    2. Registration for Tours:Only pictures taken during the EMA facilitated tours will be eligible for entry. To register for your tour, contact the EMA at 645-3362/645-0588 extension 4300 or 4278. The registrationdeadline for all tours is May 15 th, 2013. Please print and bring the Registration Form, whichcan be found on Page 9 of this document, for verification by an EMA official when attendingyour tour. This verified form MUST be submitted along with your photo/s and the PhotoSubmission Form to be eligible for entry. The registration form can be photocopied, scannedor a photo of the form can be taken for submission .

    3. How to enter:The categories for entries are: Flora, Fauna and Landscape. Each entrant may submit anentry to any category. Entrants may also submit entries to multiple categories. However, noentrant may submit more than one (1) entry per category. If an entrant exceeds these limits,the EMA may at its absolute discretion either disqualify all the entrants entries or select atits absolute discretion entries to go forward for judging and reject the remainder. Each entrymust comply with the following requirements:

    a) Submission of Entries: Entries should be submitted to the EMA by email([email protected]) or submitted on a CD. A Photo Submission Form foundon Pg 10 of this document MUST accompany each entry. This completed form canbe submitted by either typing in the form or filling out by hand. The form can then be

    photocopied, scanned or a photo of the form can be taken for submission.

    All entries must be submitted to the EMA by June 10 th, 2013. Late, illegible,incomplete, defaced or corrupt entries will NOT be accepted. No responsibility will beaccepted by the EMA for lost entries, and proof of transmission will not be acceptedas proof of receipt.

    b) Image Regulations: Only photographs taken with a digital camera will be accepted.Photos captured on conventional film will not be accepted. Burning, dodging and/or colour correction is not acceptable. Cropping is not acceptable, as are fish-eyelenses. Any changes to the raw/ original image will render photographsunacceptable and the photograph ineligible for a prize. Obscene, provocative, or otherwise objectionable content will not be considered, and such determination issolely at the discretion of the EMA.

    Images should be submitted in default camera capture format (preferably JPEG), butnot in camera RAW. Photos must be high-resolution. Images must not be post-processed, edited, or modified in any way after capture. All entries will be subject to

    pixel analysis to enforce this rule. High Dynamic Range Images (HDR/HDRI) are notpermitted.

    The entrant must be the photographer him or herself. The photograph must be anoriginal work created by the entrant. By entering the competition, the entrantrepresents, acknowledges and warrants that the submitted photographs are originalworks created solely by the entrant and that no other party has any right, title, claimor interest in the photographs.

    Only images taken in the Nariva Swamp identified locations, during the periodspecified in the schedule of tours will be considered for the competition. Entry intothe Nariva Swamp must be authorised and guided. Entry and/or any other feesassociated with accessing the Nariva Swamp will remain the responsibility of theentrant.

    4. Judging: Photos will be judged by a qualified panel of judges on the following:a) How well the photo reflects the vibrancy, importance and uniqueness of the Nariva

    Swampb) Technical abilityc) Visual appeald) CreativityThe judges decisions are final and binding.

    5. Prizes: A first, second and third prize winner will be selected in each category.

    -The first prize winner will receive an all-inclusive trip for two to Tobago-The second prize winner will receive a DSLR camera-The third prize winner will receive a pair of Binoculars-The winners of each category will be featured in the EMAs 2014 calendar -Winners may also be a part of a roving exhibit across Trinidad.

    ALL prizes are non-transferable and cannot be substituted for cash value.The first prize of an all-inclusive trip to Tobago must be claimed within the stipulateddeadline and is subject to availability and blackout dates.

    6. The EMA will not be held liable for any accident or injury while on the tours. Whileprecautionary measures will be taken, all participants enter the site area/s at their own riskand participation is voluntary.

    7. Upon entry of the competition all rights to the photos will be transferred from thephotographer to the EMA. By entering the competition, all entrants grant a royalty-free,irrevocable, non-exclusive license to the EMA, to reproduce, distribute, display and createderivative works of the photographs (along with a name credit) in connection with thiscompetition and in any media now or hereafter, for public awareness and educationalpurposes ONLY.

    Transportation Arrangements:

    1. Free transportation will be provided to and from the tour locations at pick up sites whichare yet to be determined (for participants only).

    2. Pick up locations will be determined based on number of entrants. Please note pick uptimes will be very early in the morning at approximately 5:00 am. This is to allow entrants

    an opportunity to see some of the native wildlife and birds of the area, before they go off to forage for the day. Therefore, please make every effort to be on time. Once finalized,we advise you to arrive at your pick up location at least 10 minutes before departuretime. Failure to be at the designated location for pick up on time may result in you beingleft behind.

    3. Tours are estimated to finish around 1:00 pm, after which you will be dropped off at your pick up location.

    Note: There are a limited number of spaces available on each tour. Therefore, booking seats ontours wil l be on a first come, first serve basis and is subject to availability. Should your first tour

    of choice be filled, you have the option of booking another tour, subject to availability.
