Have you met the clean water guy? I did! Brent Harpuris now owner of the sales, service and installation

portion of Systèmes ORO Systems! He was in the rightplace at the right time to meet Michel Lacombe, owner ofORO Systems Inc., out of Alexandria, who was looking tosemi-retire. Michel has had a long life in business: he originally started Glengarry Windows, worked in Insu-rance, and started ORO 15 years ago. Although Brentwasn’t looking for this opportunity, Michel made an offerhe couldn’t refuse. Now Brent is passionate about cleanwater.

Brent worked for 20 years with the Royal Bank andspent 2 years starting his own concierge business,“Here, Let Me Do That.” He enjoyed the benefits of selfemployment and is really enjoying the water treatmentbusiness. In April 2011 Brent had one month of inten-sive on the job training with Michel. Since then Brenthas been performing the Sales, Service and Installationswith only minimal assistance from Michel. He has theassurance of having Michel’s experience just a phonecall away.

Brent feels he is in the best position of his life right now.His years of customer training through the bank arehelpful as well as a deep familiarity of the area. What kind of water treatment systems do you need? Remember the Walkerton tragedy in 2000? E-coli levels killed 7 people and made 2500 people ill - homewater treatment rose in importance. The need to takecare of your own water is still there today. Brent willtest your water for hardness, bacteria, iron, and sulfur

and advise you which system will be best. Systems include: Water Softeners, combination Iron and Sulfurremoval systems, Hydrogen Peroxide Injection, CarbonFilters, Tannin (Organic) Removal Systems, Ultravio-let, and Reverse Osmosis, based on your water situa-tion. These systems can range in price from $1000 to$2500 to $4000.

The only effective method to produce ultra pure drinking water is with a reverse osmosis system. It takesabout 1 to 1½ hours to install and requires only about 2square feet of space. While the water quality of yourtown may be of good quality, you may not want to be drinking the chemicals they use to make it ‘good’.Chlorine, ammonia, fluoride, arsenic, lead, pesticidescan be found in drinking water, these are chemicals andminerals you would prefer not drinking.
