Easy Stay-On Bib

Bibs are great for keepingbaby's outfit clean, but gettingthem on and then getting themto stay put can be something ofa challenge.

This simple little bib is a quickand easy knit, and is designedto slip over the head withoutany ties, toggles or buttons tofuss with.

DIFFICULTYEasy - techniques used:knitting in the round,decreasing

FINISHED MEASUREMENTSApproximately 7.25 incheswide by 8.5 inches long

MATERIALSLily Sugar’n Cream Ombres &Prints [100% cotton;95yds/87m per 2oz/57g skein];colour: Playtime, 02741; 1skein1 16” circular US 7 (4.5 mm)knitting needle1 pair US 7 (4.5 mm) needles

GAUGE16 sts/24 rows = 4" instockinette stitch

BibWith the circular needle, cast on 60 sts and joinin the round, being careful not to twist.

Work in double rib for about 1.5 inches asfollows: *K2, P2. Repeat from * all around.

Next row: Bind off 28, K to end of round.

Turn; work back and forth in rows for theremainder of bib. Switch to straight needles.

Next row (WS): Sl first stitch pwise, K2, P tolast 3 sts, K2, P1.

Next row (RS): Sl first st kwise, K to end.

Repeat these two rows until piece measures7.5 inches from edge, ending with WS row.

Next row: Sl first st kwise, K2, ssk, K to last 5stitches, k2tog, K3. (30 stitches)

Next row: Sl first st pwise, K2, purl to last 3sts, K2, P1.

Next row: Sl first st kwise, K2, ssk, K to last 5sts, k2tog, K3. (28 stitches)

Next row: Sl first st pwise, K2, ssk, K to last 5sts, k2tog, K2, P1. (26 stitches)

Next row: Sl first st kwise, K2, ssk, K to last 5sts, k2tog, K3. (24 stitches)

Next row: Sl first st pwise, K2, ssk, K to last 5sts, k2tog, K2, P1. (22 stitches)

Bind off all sts. Weave in ends and block.
