The EastPark Transmission Project consists of building 3 miles of new transmission line and a new substation in Boyd County. The work will provide electric service to Braidy Industries planned aluminum mill facility in the EastPark Industrial Center. The route for the new line will be determined after public input is received on the proposed study segments. The project will require an approximate 100-foot wide right-of-way. The EastPark Industrial Center in Boyd County needs a robust power source capable of supplying power to Braidy Industries planned facilities. The new line will also create a robust transmission system that will increase economic development opportunities in the region. The proposed transmission line will connect to the existing Chadwick-KES Transmission Line near Kentucky Electric Steel north of I-64. The study segments travel to the northwest going on each side of the Champion Fastpitch Athletic Complex. The study segments continue north, crossing Straight Creek Road, Buena Vista Drive and ending at the proposed substation along S. Commerce Drive in the industrial park. The EastPark Transmission Project consists of building approximately 3 miles of electric transmission line and a new substation to provide service to Braidy Industries planned aluminum mill facility in the EastPark Industrial Center.
