Presentaion 1: Scald Awareness - with presenter Scott Hamilton (IAPMO/ASSE)The presentation will cover the scald issues found today. Due to Legionella scares, higher hot water temperatures are being utilized in the hot water distribution systems. Care needs to be taken to find the balance between scalding and Legionella protection. We will cover some of the options available which includes the proper use and location of thermal mixing valves. Presentaion 2: ASSE Series 12000 and Infection Control - with presenter Scott Hamilton (IAPMO/ASSE)This presentation will explain the ASSE Series 12000 Standards and certification programs. The importance of infection control and how the ASSE Series 12000 can help achieve the CDC’s goals to eliminate healthcare acquired infections (HAI) will be discussed. Healthcare acquired infections continue to be a major problem. The other Series 12000 certification pertains to water quality. Water quality is a growing concern. Discussions will cover the legionella concerns, ASHRAE 188, ASHRAE 12, and the CDC Toolkit.4:30 PM - 5:30 PM Scald Awareness 5:30 PM - 6:00 PM Dinner and Vendor Table Top Discussions 6:00 PM - 7:00 PM ASSE Series 12000 and Infection Control 7:30 PM till completion (approx. 8:20 P.M.)
