SAVE THE DATE!!! St. Jerome School is celebrating it’s 60th anniversary this year. On April 23, 2016, we will be celebrating this milestone event at the Galileo Club in Richmond with a dinner for all those 21 and over. All alumni, former students, current and past families, and anyone who would like to celebrate are invited to attend. For more information, contact Liz Remigio at [email protected], or Jim Almeida at [email protected]. Thanks and hope to see you there!

NEWS FROM THE PARISH PASTORAL COUNCIL After a year of discussion and reflection, the Parish Pastoral Council published the Strategic Plan 2015 -2021. It is available on the website or you may request a printed copy from the office. Please be sure to visit our website at www.stjeromeec.org

March 26-27, 2016 Reflections Amid the world’s confusion (and duplicity), Jesus triumphs over sin and death. Mortality gives way not only to immortality, but eternal glory in the presence of God! Unlike Lazarus’ temporary return to this life, with Jesus we will rise to the mystery of the Resurrection. We see this through a foggy mirror or frosted glass. We discern with minds and hearts full of faith. We confront the empty tomb of the Christ and believe! The ritual events of Holy Week, the time to reflect and prepare in Lent, have guided us to this day of days. Time outside of time, the “Eighth Day”, eternal, awaiting us beyond the veil of death. Our Baptism consecrates us in the paschal Mystery of the passion, death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. We in turn affirm and witness to this mystery in our lives that others may benefit as well.

Happy Easter! Eucharistic Ministers: 11am Sunday Mass We are, once again, appealing to the 11am Sunday assembly to come forward and volunteer for the Eucharistic Ministry. We need to cover the cup ministry on a regular basis. We are short of ministers. If you are a Catholic in good standing and desire to serve in this ministry, especially at 11am Mass, please contact the rectory office at (510) 525-0876. We will put you in contact with Judy Valladao, EM Coordinator. Thank you for your consideration of this request. Catholic Daughters of the Americas Mrs. Tess Chiampas, regional membership chair, visited me recently and asked to address the women of the parish regarding the establishment of a regional court for the local parishes. She and other members were here on the weekend of March 5th-6th to speak to us at the end of each Mass. Saint Jerome School (1955/56-2015/16) The school celebrates 60 years. Celebrations continue throughout this year. Stay in touch and let alumni know! School children from our second grade will celebrate First Eucharist on Sunday, April, 10th at the 9am Mass. Children’s Catechesis Ministry The public school children are preparing for their First Eucharist for the 9am or 11am Masses on Sunday, April 24th. Capital Campaign Update for 03/14/2016: Parish Goal—$216,358.99 92 donors: Pledged $191,403.00 = 88% of goal met; $78.981.06 receipts to date. Fr. Fernando Cortez, Pastor
