After losing my mom, I didnt think I had the strength or support

to go on. I dont know how many times I cried to the other residents

and staff that I wanted to quit, to just give up. But because of

all the training and support I received and the skills Ive learned

atEaster Seals, I made it and now Im an official Linkages

    Thank you,Easter Seals!

Easter Seals has had a tremendous impact not ju

our son, Christopher, but on our entire familya

beyond. After being referred to Easter Seals, Chri

moved into one of its residential group homes to

treatment for his mental illness. The staff went a

and beyond, sometimes spending hours at a time

on-one, to educate the entire family about his illn

and how to take a proactive role in supporting hi

along his path to recovery. They connected us w

resources to become further educated about the

and be trained to host family support groups wh

are now able to use our newfound knowledge to

other families struggling with the mental illness of a loved one. They also

helped direct and navigate us through the maze of social services to ensure that Christopher would re

all the resources available to him in order to remain on his path of recovery. And now we understand t

even though our sons illness will never go away, we take great comfort in knowing that Easter Seals

is there to advocate for us, and to support and direct us. Everyone in our family is so grateful to

Easter Seals for all they have taught us and all the staff has done for us.Sue, parent of Christopher, Easter Seals Behavioral Health Services participant
