sew back through the Bs, the center of the tube, and the next up-bead in round 1 (c–d). Pull snug. This creates the first anther in the center of the flower. Repeat these stitches once more to add a second anther (d–e). Pick up an A, sew through the next two up-beads, and step up through the first A added in this round (e–f).

6. Working off of the three beads added in the previous step, work two rounds of tubular peyote with As, stepping up through the first bead added in each round after the round is complete. You will be adding three As in each round.

4. For round 13, pick up five As, sew down through the next 110 added in round 12, and continue through the adjacent 110 in round 11 and the first 110 in the next pair added in round 12 (FIGURE 3, A–B). Repeat this stitch five more times for a total of six petals (b–c). Retrace the thread path through the beads in this step to add a little more structure. End the working thread.

5. Thread a needle on the tail. Pick up an A, and sew through the next up-bead in round 1 (FIGURE 4, A–B). Sew down through the center of the tube, pick up eight color B 150 seed beads, and three color C 150 seed beads (b–c). Skip the three Cs, and

7. To make a hanging loop, pick up seven Bs, and sew through the next up-bead in the final round (FIGURE 5, A–B). Pick up a B, skip the last B added, and sew back through the next five Bs (b–c). Pick up a B, and sew through the A your thread exited at the start of this step (c–d). Retrace the thread path through the loop at least once, and end the thread.

8. Open the loop of an earwire, and attach the loop of Bs created in the previous step. Close the loop.

9. Make a second earring.
