Easter in Iceland
The 6th graders in Kársnesskóli made this

Easter at Church
• 90% of all Icelanders are Christian• Most of them are Lutheran• Very few go regularly to church• Except if something special is happening
in the family like conformation, weddings and christening
• Our Church in Kópavogur is very beautiful and was built in 1962

Confirmation are often around Easter
• Most children are confirmed when they are 14 years old
• The family celebrates and invite friends and relatives
• The child gets many gifts like books, computer, camera, jewellery and money
• This day is a big day for the child
Easter is a time when many families travell
• They go skiing in Iceland and abroad
• The whole family plays in the snow
• They drive to the
mountains and on glaciers
• Visit relatives that live in the country
Some relax at home with their family and eat good food
Easter eggs on Easter Sunday
• Our parents hide eggs made out of chocolate
• Inside the eggs we have a saying and sweets
• We look for the eggs outside and inside
• We have a lot of fun eating the eggs and reading the sayings
Everyone enjoys their chocolate eggs
This Easter the weather was beautiful in Iceland
