We would make our way to church for a sunrise service and we would all come bun- dled up. In some ways, those memories help shape my understanding of Easter. Easter comes while our eyes are still weary. It comes mysteriously, almost unexpectantly…often from the cold and darkness of our lives. We aren’t always wearing our Sunday best, but ra- ther we show up in life just trying to stay warmed by God’s light, and God breaks in and does something miraculous. Resurrection happens! We, like the women at the tomb and the disci- ples soon after, don’t understand at first. But then, God continues to come to us and we begin to have clarity. Out of our darkness, God brings light. Out of the cold, God brings warmth. Out of death, God brings life. This year as you contemplate Easter and its meaning for us, remember that Easter isn’t just a day, but rather we celebrate Easter as a season in the Christian calendar. We are enter- ing a season of the Christian year called Eastertide (just as we did in Lent). Instead of focus- ing on our sin and repentance (as we did during Lent), Easter helps us to focus on celebrating how God’s love triumphs over all. So for 50 days, think of ways to celebrate and give thanks to God! Look for ways that God’s love, life, and light have conquered evil, death, and dark- ness in your own life or the lives of folks you know. Just as God raised Jesus from the dead, God will ultimately make all things new! Eastertide shows us a loving and triumphant side to our faith, and the resurrection proves that life is stronger than death and that ultimately God will prevail.

Easter

By

Dr. Ryan Wilson

I can remember growing up and waking up on Easter morning. It was often cold and

dark. We would make our way to church for a sunrise service and we would all come bun-

dled up. In some ways, those memories help shape my understanding of Easter. Easter

comes while our eyes are still weary. It comes mysteriously, almost unexpectantly…often

from the cold and darkness of our lives. We aren’t always wearing our Sunday best, but ra-

ther we show up in life just trying to stay warmed by God’s light, and God breaks in and does

something miraculous. Resurrection happens! We, like the women at the tomb and the disci-

ples soon after, don’t understand at first. But then, God continues to come to us and we begin

to have clarity. Out of our darkness, God brings light. Out of the cold, God brings warmth.

Out of death, God brings life.

This year as you contemplate Easter and its meaning for us, remember that Easter isn’t

just a day, but rather we celebrate Easter as a season in the Christian calendar. We are enter-

ing a season of the Christian year called Eastertide (just as we did in Lent). Instead of focus-

ing on our sin and repentance (as we did during Lent), Easter helps us to focus on celebrating

how God’s love triumphs over all. So for 50 days, think of ways to celebrate and give thanks

to God! Look for ways that God’s love, life, and light have conquered evil, death, and dark-

ness in your own life or the lives of folks you know.

Just as God raised Jesus from the dead, God will ultimately make all things new!

Eastertide shows us a loving and triumphant side to our faith, and the resurrection proves that

life is stronger than death and that ultimately God will prevail.

Happy Spring! My favorite season is upon us. The new flower blooms, the beautiful green tree buds, the chirping birds, and baseball season make me happy, happy, happy. It also is a great reminder of the new life we have in Jesus. Take a minute to remind your children of this. When we ask Jesus to come into our hearts, we have eternal new life. It is more beautiful than all the flowers on all the earth. Promise U practice is going strong. Please mark your calendars for our performance dates. You will not want to miss this amazing production. A look ahead… All children’s choirs, preschool through 5th grade, will be singing in worship on Easter Sunday, April 5. Promise University on Saturday, May 2, at 7pm and Sunday, May 3, during morning worship at 10:30. Sports Camp – June 8-12 (sign-up on the children’s bulletin board) VBS – June 14 – 18, 5:30-8 Camp Prism – July 14-17 (for completed 3rd-5th graders)

I want to take a minute and thank all of the volunteers that help with our children on Sundays and Wednesdays.

You mean so much to me ,and you are making a lifelong impression on the children of Trinity. How to Pray for my child… Pray that they will have a responsible attitude in all their relationships. Daniel 6:3 Pray that they will respect those in authority over them. Romans 13:1

Hello everyone! Let me start by saying Happy Easter to everyone! Christ is risen indeed! I also want to thank the youth for an amazing Youth Sunday. I am so proud of them for sharing their tal-ents and gifts in worship. The prayers and scriptures were well-said, the reflections were very in-sightful, and the music was phenomenal! Not forgetting the skit, I know the youth worked very hard to have it ready. It was a special day for Chelsea Huston, our only senior for the next two years. I appreciate her leadership and setting an example for the younger ones. This month we have a couple of things of note: - No Wednesday night activities April 1 - No Sunday night activities April 5 - Our church-wide Sunrise Service is April 5 at 6:45 a.m. - We have an upcoming Romania fundraiser April 18 (more details to come) - Please fill out a medical release form for your youth if you have not yet done so yet this year - I am planning a guys’ day out this month I will send out information as soon as that is locked down I am looking forward to seeing the results of the tiles our new youth members are painting, as well as continued growth in Bible Study. Peace and love, Preston

by Susan Brock, Preschool Director

February and March have been very busy for the Trinity Preschool. The children loved the snow that we received in February. Lots of fun was had as they went sledding and built snowmen. They enjoyed their days off from school but I think everyone was glad to get back into our routines. Our 2015-2016 Preschool Registration has been underway since February. We are already full in our two-year-old program and three-year-old program for next school year. We have 3 spots available in our fours’ class and a few spots left in our kindergarten class. Pass the word if you know of anyone looking for a Preschool for next year. March brought lots of fun activities. The four-year-old classes have been working on their art for our Annual Art Show. The show will be up from April 8 - April 10. Please stop by the gathering area and see the great work the children will have on display. Thanks to Mrs. Kiser, Mrs. Rebecca, and Mrs. Catrina for all their hard work. We also had our "Ugly Bug Ball" on March 13. We had some very creative bugs this year. The bugs will also be on display during the Art Show. Our last week of March was filled with lots of activities. March 24 the four-year-olds and kindergarten traveled to the Goat Farm. On March 25 we had our Easter Chapel Ser-vice. All our parents were invited to "walk" to church with us. The children always enjoy walking around the church and placing flowers on our cross. A big thank you to Janet Dowis (Ruby and Adley's grandmother) for playing the organ for us as we came into the sanctuary. Also, thanks to Ryan for always doing such a great job when he leads our chapel service. The last activity before our Spring Break was our Easter Egg Hunt and Spring Picnic. This is always a fun time as we hunt eggs, have pictures made with the Easter Bunny, and have a picnic outside. The Preschool staff wishes all of you a Blessed Easter and a Happy Spring.
