Mission Statement: To facilitate Ham Radio licensees getting full use and benefit of the 2 meter repeaters in ETN and to inform non Ham
licensees of the possibilities with Ham Radio and motivate them to get their license.

Value And Purpose Of This Directory:> To help people get active in ETN Ham Radio> To Facilitate the finding of nets to listen to and clubs to attend.> Protect nets from interference.> Help new Hams to get a quick start in undertanding and use of the 2 meter band.> Help non Ham (listeners) to get interested in the Ham Radio world by listening to nets. The hope is they will get intertested enough to get their license.
How it Works: The information on the nets and clubs is in the right column and is arranged (by the columns to the left) according to the day of the week and the time of the day and the frequency. When you want to see the information for a certain day of the week, go to the collection of entries for that day and look for the time and frequencies. Use the search or find function in your software to find frequencies and geographical names.The value of this directory is twofold: 1. Static (looking at the data in the three tables as it is, as you would read a printed document).2. Dynamic sorting the data so as to see particular things grouped in special ways, This cannot be done in the free PDF reader and is best done in Apache OpenOffice the leading open-source office software suite for word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, graphics, databases and more https://www.openoffice.org/download/index.html )

Nets 147.075 wb4gbi The 147.075 (+) repeater is located on McKinney Ridge, in the city of
Knoxville, TN. on the west side of town, near the intersection of Interstates I-40/75 and I-640. Instructions for using the WB4GBI Autopatch:> Key your mic and identify yourself, with your intentions to use the autopatch... Suchas: "This is WX4ABC accessing the Autopatch..." >with the mic still keyed, and using your DTMF buttons... enter the (*) key.. followed by the 7-digit phone number. (No Long Distance numbers will be accepted) >Release the mic key... and listen. If the autopatch is accessed correctly, it will repeat back to you "Accessing Autopatch..." (followed by the number you just dialed) >You will then hear a series of beeps... while the machine dials your number. In a few moments, you will hear the phone ringing... then your party will answer. >Note: Be sure to tell them they are on an autopatch, so they will know the conversation is being transmitted! >Carry on your conversation as normal - releasing your mic to hear the other party's responses. > (Note: There is a 4-minute limit to each autopatch session!) >To hang up... simply key your mic, and press the (#) key -then release. >The Autopatch will hang up the phone, then ID itself... give the time... then ask you to"Please Identify..." >Give your callsign to let everyone know that you have finished using the autopatch, and have returned the repeater to normal use. This machine is located just West of downtown Knoxville, making it perfect for local use. We usually have between 40 and 60 check-ins, and our goal in 2019 is to grow that to 70+! The Chattanooga Sunday Night Net generally follows the schedule below, but at times we do move things around to accommodate something. The Net is held every Sunday evening beginning at 2000 (8pm eastern time) on the K4VCM 146.790 repeater, which is located high atop Signal Mountain in Chattanooga, TN (no tone is required, this is a Fusion repeater and does transmit 107.2 TSQL). 2 Mon 1930 146.730 Wb4gbi English Mt Swap & Shop 146.73 - Th 8:00 PM The 146.73 repeater is oneof East Tennessee's "Heritage" repeaters, having been placed on the air in 1974 by Sam(WB4HAP) and Matt (WB4IOB) Kirby. When the FCC was issuing licenses for repeaters, the 146.73 repeater held the call sign of WR4APU. The repeater had been operated maintained by Sam and Matt until Sam became a silent key in 2007. Tim acquired this repeater from Sam's estate on September 12, 2007... and moved the machine from Sam's home, to his own home, where it underwent some major refurbishing. It has been located in two other buildings before reaching this destination building in January 2016. The new Sinclair SD-224 and the 7/8" heliax was also installed. When the FCC was issuing licenses for repeaters, the 146.73 repeater held the call sign of WR4APU. The repeater had been operated maintained by Sam and Matt until Sam became a silent key in 2007. Tim acquired this repeater from Sam's estate on September 12, 2007... and moved the machine from Sam's home, to his own home, where it underwent some major refurbishing. It has been located in two other buildings before reaching this destination building in January 2016. The new Sinclair SD-224 and the 7/8" heliax was also installed. Skywarn The effects of severe weather are felt every year by many Americans. To obtain critical weather information, NOAA’s National Weather Service (NWS), part of the U.S. Department of Commerce, established SKYWARN® with partner organizations. SKYWARN® is a volunteer program with nearly 290,000 trained severe weather spotters. These volunteers help keep their local communities safe by providing timely and accurate reports of severe weather to the National Weather Service. Although SKYWARN® spotters provide essential information for all types of weather hazards, the main responsibility of a SKYWARN® spotter is to identify and describe severe local storms. In the average year, 10,000 severe thunderstorms, 5,000 floods and more than 1,000 tornadoes occur across the United States. These events threatened lives and property.

hams are welcome to try them out when in the area. I have been an amateur repeater owner since 1981. Presently, I am employed as the Chief Engineer WUOT-FM, The University of Tennessee's NPR station. Previously, I was the Chief Engineer for the Cumulus Stations in Knoxville (WIVK/WNML/WOKI). I still serve as their backup engineer. I am also the Engineer for WJBZ-FM, WLAF-AM, WLIK-AM, WCLC AM/FM, and WGSN-FM in the Knoxville area. I am also the Chief Engineer and Technical Director of the Vol Radio Network, which broadcasts the University of Tennessee football, basketball, and baseball games. He is certified at the CBRE level by the Soceity of Broadcast Engineers and is also a member and past president of the Radio Amateur Club of Knoxville (RACK).
