• Valuable contribution to the local economy (e.g. hire companies generate 600,000+ holiday hire boat/customer days, worth £33m to the national economy delivered locally*)

• Introduces new people to new opportunities on the waterways

• Canoeing, rowing & sailing clubs & societies facilitate participation in active watersports by wider community
