A N O R D I N A N C E REGULATING T H E SUBDIVISION A N D D E V E L O P M E N T O F L A N D ; ESTABLISHING P R O C E D U R E S A N D STANDARDS F O R THE . .

PRESENTATION, R E V I E W , A P P R O V A L A N D RECORDING O F P L A T S ; P R E S C R I B I N G MINIMUM IMPROVEMENTS R E Q U I R E D ; SETTING FEES,

A N D PRESCRIBING PENALTIES F O R VIOLATIONS.

N O W B E IT ORDAINED A N D E N A C T E D by t h e Board of S u p e r v i s o r s of E a s t Mead Township, Crawford County, P e n n s y l v a n i a , p u r s u a n t t o t h e Pennsy lvan ia M u n i c i p a l i t i e s P l a n n i n g Code, Act 247 of 1968 ( E f f e c t i v e J a n u a r y 1 , 1 9 6 9 ) and i t s amendments, a s f o l l o w s :

ARTICLE I - - P U R P O S E A N D AUTHORITY

A . S h o r t T i t l e

This Ordinance s h a l l be k n o w n and may be c i t e d a s t h e SUBDIVISION REGULATIONS OF EAST M E A D TOWNSHIP.

B . Purpose

This Ordinance i s adopted f o r t h e f o l l o w i n g p u r p o s e s :

1 . To promote t h e p u b l i c h e a l t h , s a f e t y , m o r a l s , conven ience and g e n e r a l we1 f a r e of t h e r e s i d e n t s o f t h e Township;

2 . To a s s i s t i n t h e o r d e r l y , e f f i c i e n t and a d e q u a t e development o f t h e Township ' s l a n d and t h e p u b l i c improvements t h e r e t o ;

3 . To p r o t e c t t h e l a n d from development t h a t p o l l u t e s t h e Townsh ip ' s n a t u r a l r e s o u r c e s ;

4 . To i n s u r e s a f e a n d e f f i c i e n t t r a f f i c movement;

5 . To s a f e g u a r d t h e p u b l i c a g a i n s t f l o o d damage a n d t h e h a z a r d s o f s o i l e r o s i o n ;

6 . To p r o t e c t and enhance t h e v a l u e of r e a l p r o p e r t y .
