7.5.2 Lookouts

Upgrade of lookouts including new fencing, platforms, signage and landscaping are proposed for 6 locations. These are:

• Marges Lookout, Knapsack Reserve DCP02LP- A2,

• Elizabeth’s Lookout, Knapsack Reserve DCP05, LP-A2,

• Siding Lookout, Lapstone Zig Zag DCP06, LP-B2,

• Quarry Lookout, Lapstone Zig Zag DCP06, LP-B2,

• Bluff Lookout, Bluff Reserve DCP09, LP- E, and

• Unnamed Lookout, Railcorp Land LP-E.

The location of these lookouts is shown in the referenced Local Area Plan (LAP) as labeled. Costing and priority for theseupgrade works are listed in the Costing Table for the relevant Local Area Plan in Section 9.3.

7.5.3 Walking Tracks

Walking tracks along with the bike trails are the primary means by which visitors access and explore the Eastern Escarpment.The Precinct Plan and the Local Area Plans show existing walking tracks and shared trails and the proposed upgrades. Themajority of the proposals are upgrades of existing tracks. The major upgrade of walking tracks are summarised in Table 11.In addition to these major upgrades, this is a range of track closures and realignments which is identified in the Local AreaPlans, the exact detail of which will be subject to site survey and environmental assessment.
