D. Spot or spots where the Quarrying operation is proposed and proposed

maximum depth of quarrying operation.

The lease area is almost flat and covered by soil. The thickness of soil in this

area is more than 2m as it is seen exposed in a pit nearby the quarry area. The

depth has been considered 2m from top surface for quarrying as per MoEF

guideline dated 24.06.2013.About 0.2 m thick upper A0 part of soil is humus

hence after removal of this specific part of humus and preserving it separately

1.8mdepth of soil will be considered for excavation and production. The

proposed method of quarrying will be open cast.

RESERVES

The thickness of soil is more than 2 meters in this area. As the humus part of soil is

about 0.2 m, therefore only 1.8 m depth of soil is taken for reserve calculation. The

reserve of brick earth is calculated by volumetric method.

Geological Reserve of Brick Earth Quarry

Area (m2) x depth = Volume (m3)

24000 x1.8 = 43200cubic meter

Total geological reserve comes to 43200m3

Blockage of Reserve

Coal: About 20 tones

Water: 50-60KL.

ii)Tempering: The Brick Earth is mixed with water to get right consisting either

manually or with pug mills.

iii) Moulding : The tempered Brick Earth is then rolled in sand and shaped into

mould. The sand prevents the Brick Earth from sticking to mould.
