Earth Hour started in Sydney in 2007 when 2.2 million homes and businesses turned their lights off to save energy for a whole hour. Sydney thought that it would be a good idea to do it once a year so that is how Earth Hour started. The money saved Earth Hour saves hundreds of money every year from just turning you lights off for a hour! Earth Hour is a energy saving campaign and is also a money saving campaign. Why do we need it If we didnt have this project every year then our bills on light and electricity would be higher then now. Earth Hour is also very helpful because it saves the polar bears from extinction. (Global Warming) The environment Earth Hour might not be that important to some of us but that is not true.
