want to come to what is now

$10

HOW DID MISSIO NAIRIES START COMMUN ITIES?
Father Emile Grouard used
a printing press to print
books in Native languages!
This was the first time
Native languages were ever

The town of Grouard is
named after him!

order to stop the
whiskey trade.
They showed to
western prairies that
they had to follow
Canada ‘s laws.
They helped stop the
US from taking our land.
HOW DID THE COMING OF THE
RAILWAY CHANGE THE WEST?
1879 Work on the railroad
begins in British Columbia
and heading east. Many
Chinese workers were
hired.
