presidency.These acts limited the rights of immigrants and made it illegal

to speak poorly of the government

I tried to make a friendship with France but they said they would only enter into negotiations with us AFTER

we pay them a large amount of money.

This was called the XYZ affair

Native Americans to use against the U.S.

A group of young congressmen, called war hawks, push for war with

The war of 1812 is ended with the

called for abolition of all slavery in the
