These early pregnancy problems if not managed appropriately can result in disastrous consequences. Modern obstetric care is now more reliant on ultrasound scan as a form of investigative tool in achieving an early diagnosis of these problems and hence ensuring prompt management. The common indications for an early pregnancy sonographic examination include early pregnancy vaginal bleeding and abdominal pain.
