1620 PILGRIMS TO PLYMOUTH

English Puritans who fledEngland to escape religiouspersecution.

After a 65-day journey fromSouthampton, England, theylanded in Plymouth Harboron the western side of CapeCod Bay on December 21,1620.

Under the leadership of

William Bradford, they signedthe Mayflower Compact,which created their owngovernment.
