    INTRODUCTION

This bibliography is one of a series produced by the

British Council to help English Language Teaching (ELT)

professionals select resources which can be used in the

classroom, for self-access centres or libraries. There are

lists for general ELT and for English for Academic

Purposes (EAP) and they are broken down by

approximate value in pounds sterling, for example; ELT10,000 (has resources which total 10,000), ELT 5000

(has resources which total 5000) and so on.

You can use this bibliography in a number of ways; to

start a new collection, to review and refresh your existing

resources, or to create an exhibition for an event.

    Each bibliography is divided into sections including;

learner levels, skill types, readers, dictionaries, resource

material for teachers and exams. The resources have

been selected by an external consultancy; River RockBibliographic Consultants, who selected a range of

books, software and packages and they have also been

quality reviewed by a group of British Council English

    Language teachers.

Each item has bibliographic information to help you with

    selection and ordering:
