Each session will include: -Warm up exercises and a flowing set of postures to gently stretch the major muscle groups of the body and promote overall flexibility. -The session begins with a short introduction about Bhangra moves. -A variety of Bhangra moves, which are be done with gentle start then slowly increasing the pace, session explores various postures with a strong emphasis on health and safety depending on your individual needs and ability. -There will be some advice about healthy eating. -To feel confident in one self from the start to the end of the session.

-To practise a range of flowing Bhangra postures, with rhythm, balance and coordination.-You’ll learn through teacher’s demonstration and corrections in a safe and friendly environment.

Course Outline

Beginners and Intermediate.Course Level

Please check with your GP if a Bhangra course is suitable for you, especially if you have health problems.Suitability and Entry Requirements

This course is non-accredited, but you can ask for a certificate of completion at the end. Your progress will be monitored throughout, and you will receive friendly and supportive feedback on a regular basis

Accreditation, qualifications and assessment methods

-We recommend that you spend 10-15 minutes a day practising what you have learnt in class.

-The tutor will mentor you and encourage you on out-of-class practice in a safe environment.

Extra Hours

-Comfortable and loose clothing is recommended, e.g. a top and leggings.

You can also consider but there is no requirement to buy

-Bring your favourite Punjabi song.

Jarnail Singh learnt Bhangra as part of the Punjabi culture education from the age of 6 year old in Punjab India. On arrival to the UK, he joined a Bhangra group ‘The Punjab Dancers’, originally established in 1973. He managed this dance group from 1977 to the current date. Toured in many countries with The Punjab Dancers including India, Canada, Germany, France, and Holland, Switzerland and throughout UK. Jarnail performed in many renowned venues including The Royal Albert Hall, Hippodrome, NEC Birmingham and Wembley Conference Centre. Main events included performing in appearance of Prince Charles at The Royal Albert Hall. Started teaching Bhangra in 1980 with a range of ages from children as young as 6 to one of the older students of 70, attending. Currently run 5 weekly classes under “BHANGRA BUZZ” with upwards of 350 students attending, in the Ealing borough. He continues to promote and teach Bhangra to upcoming Singing & dancing artists and have held Bhangra classes for adult educations at various venues (Throughout the boroughs of Slough, Ealing and Hounslow), he also continues to run Workshops in schools and dance studios throughout UK and Europe also choreograph Punjabi music videos.

supported by a doctor's letter. Please note also that in the first lesson, apart from receiving induction to the course, ALL learners will be required to fill in some forms distributed by the tutor. This is in order for us to comply with funding requirements.

Please also Note: Courses are subject to a minimum number of enrolments and could be cancelled if recruitment is low. In some cases an alternative class at a different location may be offered.
