From our Aerie President Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a wonderful December and that your holidays were filled with joy and laughter. Now that we are in the New Year, let’s see how many of us can keep our New Year’s resolutions. I know, it’s hard, for I fail just about every time. But every year brings new hope and we can hold to those resolutions if we give it our all. I wish to thank everyone in the Eagle that worked so hard and participated in the events held in December. All of the events were a great success! Though I would love to thank everyone in person, I want you to know that you are sincerely appreciated and your dedication to the Eagle is unmeasurable. Thank you! We start the new year off with a blast by hosting the Virginia State Pool Tourna- ment on January 10th – 11th. Everything on our is looking good but we are still asking for volunteers. If you can assist, please let any Officer or Trustee know. With your help, we will make it a great event. Please know that this tournament is for everyone, no matter what you feel your pool skills are. You will surely have a good time. If you would like more information, please see the flyer within this Newsletter, on the Eagle #3024 Facebook page or website and at the club. The Aerie will begin accepting Scholarship applications beginning March 5, 2020. Please see Aerie Secretary for applications. All completed applications must be submitted no later than April 16, 2020 by 6pm. The winner will be announced during the Aerie meeting on May 7, 2020. This is a great opportunity for some- one to obtain needed financial assistance and to be recognized for who they are and for what this scholarship will do for them. We are honored to provide this opportunity. Please see the flyer in this Newsletter for further information. The Aerie Anniversary is fast approaching and will be held on Saturday, March 28th. Coordination is already underway, and details will be forthcoming. The Aerie and Auxiliary are planning a Membership Drive on Saturday, April 4th. We are still working on the details and we will share those with you as soon as possible. The #3204 In-House pool league will be coming to the end soon. I must say, it has been an amazing time. Everyone participating is having a lot of fun while at the same time contributing money for Cancer. The final results will be an- nounced when the tournament concludes. I’m confident we will have a new league in the near future so please consider signing up. I kindly ask for your continued prayers for those who are sick or have found themselves in difficult times. We have had a lot of members who fall into these categories and PRAYER works; trust me I know! Thank you. We should all be proud of what we accomplished in 2019. It was a phenomenal year! Together, let’s make 2020 another year to celebrate. I hope everyone has a wonderful Winter and maybe this year we will get some snow. Stay safe and warm. GOD bless! FOOD DRIVEThe chili and baked potato bar was a huge success!!! We filled an SUV with food and collected $124.00 cash!!! A special thank you to Dave Magner who chaired the event and did all the cooking. Also thanks to Miss Ellie, Corinne Smith, Dave Steadman, Bob Thaxton, Pat Ciezlik for donations toward food costs. We can’t forget our set up and clean up crew of Hill-ary Hart, Tami Itri and Mike Boyce.
