The benefit was a huge success raising $6,407. We hosted a ride, great music, dinner, auctions, pool tournament and more. From the Desk of Bryan Titus

Hello Eagle Riders of Indiana and Hello November 2018!

Where did October go? Mine was spent trying to help Bonnie following her knee replacement surgery in September. She is doing much better now. On October 6th, we went to Crawfordsville Aerie #1005 for the Fall Conference, but it proved to be too much for her and I had to take her home.

I did make it back to Crawfordsville to attend the seminar on surveying Aeries in an attempt to head off trouble before it gets out of hand. Since becoming the Eagle Riders Coordinator in 2007, I have visited a lot of Aeries and seen this occur. There used to be 93 Aeries in Indiana – now there are barely over 80. I am not going to review the list here, but the seminar was very thorough in covering issues that have caused us to lose members and Aeries over these past few years. I commend those who organized the seminar. It was very informative and very well presented. And, thank you to Crawfordsville #1005 for an outstanding job of hosting the 2018 Fall Conference!

I know there are Rider groups that have November events planned. Please post them on our Facebook sites and let us know the details! We want to hear all about them! Do not forget to inform Belinda Young. Yes, I said Belinda Young! As of October 5, 2018, she and Bobby Young tied the knot in the presence of their families and close friends! While I do not believe her e-mail address has changed ([email protected]), I do know that you will now find her on Facebook as Belinda Young. Please send your congratulations and best wishes to her and Bobby! I wish them many years together filled with love and laughter with friends, family and, of course, the Eagles!

Belinda looks forward to getting all the stories and photos to place in our newsletter. Remember she can work up to seven pages and would like your stories and photos by the 25th day of the month. She is a working Lady with many responsibilities and it takes time to put this together, and yes, she must slap me upside the head now and then to get mine in on time. Also, please take time to thank our two continuing sponsors Indy West Harley Davidson and Mark Ladendorf of Ladendorf law.

Until next month, ride safe out there. Many people in cages are not watching for us as they don’t expect ‘cold’ weather riders. Don’t forget during the holidays to continue to raise money to help others….remember your Aeries and its members….someone in your own house may be needing help at this time of the year. Do not overlook or take one another for granted.

Allow me to jump into the future (just a little) and remind you to plan to attend our Indiana State Eagle Riders meeting in January 2019. It will be at Plainfield Aerie #3027 starting Saturday, January 19, 2019. Tish will be sending our hotel reservation information soon. This meeting is for all Riders and Eagles as well as those interested in becoming a Rider or those wishing to learn what it is we do. Hopefully, we’ll hear from our State officers about the charity we are all working hard for this year!

Most of all, Bonnie and I wish you and your families a very happy Thanksgiving filled with warmth, love, laughter and togetherness. As you sit down to your feast, do not forget our young men and women in the armed forces serving our country at home and abroad – we give thanks for all of them.

Until next month, ride safe and soar like an eagle!

Bryan Titus, Eagle Rider of Indiana State President

Cedar Lake Eagle Riders #2529WELCOME ABOARD RIDERS!

On Sept. 15th, Plainf ie ld 3207 Eagle Riders has the annual Five Star Ride. Their char i ty for 2018 was the Brain In jury Survivors of Indiana. 31 bikes part ic ipated in the r ide and those who remained behind part ic ipated in games, raf f les, car demol i t ion and shopped at the 20+ vendors. The fun cont inued af ter the r iders returned and the band, 13 Gunz, enterta ined al l .

At their October meet ing, the Eagle Riders presented their char i ty a check for $8000 and money cont inued to be raised af ter the check presentat ion! President Bryan Ti tus appointed Brenda Overton to chair the event. She had stated that i f they raised more than their f i rs t two r ides combined, she’d gladly take a pie in the face! Bryan gladly (a bi t too much so!) volunteered to throw the pie, but when the t ime came, he presented her wi th a Member Appreciat ion plaque.

On October 17th, I traveled north to meet our newest members – the Eagle Riders of Cedar Lake #2529! It was a long overdue trip and I appreciate their understanding. They have been diligent in their compliance of the rules of the constitution. They are a fantastic group of Eagles and – wow – what a beautiful Aerie. I highly recommend our other groups ride or drive to Cedar Lake to visit and welcome them! Along with the rest of the Eagle Riders in the State of Indiana, I welcome the Cedar Lake Eagle Riders #2529!

President Leif Gibson and Secretary Danielle Sauzer, along with their other officers, Eagle Riders and Aerie members greeted me and treated me very well, Thank you! Their excitement was visible! We have been discussing the start-up of their Eagle Riders group since the end of June or before, so I was very happy to make it up there. I can only hope that I answered all their questions about getting started, but they know they can contact me should any other questions arise. They told me, that the start of their Riders group has helped increase membership in the Aerie and Auxiliary and, their charter is still open until the first of the year! I also want to point out and thank Dave Whitworth and Riders of 3117 Hessville and Ed Pasley, Matt Zeiters and Riders of 2517 for helping this group get some interest and information on their start up.The Cedar Lake Eagle Riders have a traveling trophy that they wish to enter into the fray! When their trophy is ready – and they say it won’t be long -- they will contact me, they just have some minor adjustments to make. They are more than ready to travel and steal trophies! I look forward to them becoming involved in our 2019 bike raffle to benefit our State Presidents’ charity, the Ronald McDonald House. I’m sure some socks will make their way to them so they can show us how Cedar Lake “rocks the socks!”
