We are excited to announce a reduction in the instructional fee for the 2020-21 school year for all

    our elementary grades.

    • All elementary schools will charge a $20 instructional fee and no other fees will be charged for

instructional supplies; this $20 will cover items such as headphones, erasers, Primary journals,

additional or specialized folders and notebooks, rulers, index cards, highlighters, agenda books,

field day t-shirts, recorders, etc. (This is reduction of $10 from last year.)

    • No device usage fee will be charged however damaged or lost items will still require a

    payment

    • Any elementary student participating in at least one school club will be charged only one $20

club fee instead of multiple individual club fees (Club fees may not be charged due to Covid-

    19)

    • A standard supply list has been developed for use by all elementary grades, district-wide

    • No other requests will be made for elementary parents to purchase classroom supplies for the

    2019-20 school year

A waiver or adjustment may be made for any student qualifying for free or reduced meals to ensure that no student is denied services due to the inability to pay. In order for your student to receive the fee

waiver, you are required to complete the Educational Benefit Form (EBF).

If you would like to donate additional funds or supplies, you can do so by contacting the school office or the Family Resource Center.

  • Shelby County Public Schools will provide free wireless devices and service to eligible students

Again, this year, our school district is participating in the 1Million Project Foundation, a national effort to help high school students,

such as yourself, achieve your full potential by providing you with a free mobile device with high-speed Internet access. Last year,

only eligible high school students could participate. This year, the 1Million Project Foundation has opened that up to all grades, K-12.

Participating in this program will help ensure that you have the 24/7 Internet access you need to be successful in today’s school

environment. It can also help you gain the digital skills needed for today’s jobs. This is a completely free program for both our school

district and for you to participate in.

    What will Eligible Students Receive?

    • A free hotspot device (to connect your laptop or tablet to Wi-Fi)

    • 10GB per month of free high-speed wireless data

What Can I Do with My Device?

    • Online research for your school papers

    • Submit homework that must be submitted online

    • Connect online with your teachers and fellow students

    • Complete scholarships or enrollment for college

    • Anything else (appropriate) online

Don’t let an inability to access the Internet at home stand in the way. In order to apply for a hotspot, please complete the following

    form by clicking here.
