Executive Director News (contact Jason Ulbrich) Today, we were notified by the Minnesota Department of Education that we have been awarded the Charter School Expansion Grant with an “Excellent” rating. We are so excited to have earned the grant and are honored to have earned an “Excellent” rating, which is rare. We will receive $225,000 per year for three years to help with our expansion. The award will start on April 1, 2015 to start the planning phase. Please stay tuned for more information regarding expansion and facility plans. Our Strategic Growth Task Force (SGTF) will be recommending an architectural firm to the Board of Directors on January 27 th and the administration will be presenting and asking for approval of a Purchase Agreement Template to be used when a specific facility has been prioritized. When we present a Purchase Agreement on a specific property, we will have a town hall meeting, architectural concept drawings, and site tours for the stakeholders. The SGTF and our facility search group has high interest of at least two local properties that meet our criteria. You can anticipate more information soon. We have a SGTF meeting on February 2 nd at 5:30pm in the conference room. These are open meetings and the public is invited. _____________________________________________________ Mascot Challenge (contact Randy Vetsch, Operations Director) The logo of the Eagle Ridge Academy Gryphons is now complete. A new semester started this week and it is a great time to take a look back at

many of the fun and exciting activities and events we have this year. Let’s

team together; the school, parents, and students to make it a great second

semester in 2015!

Note: Schedule changes (the form is available online) need to be submitted

by Monday, January 26th for second semester. If a course is dropped after

that date it will show up as a “W”/ withdraw on a student’s transcript.

Developing Connections (contact – Kelly Schiffman, Development Coordinator)

Eagle Ridge Academy is holding its 2nd Annual Golf

Tournament on June 28th. Our goal this year is 132

golfers and even more to attend the dinner and

program following golf play. I invite you to “Take a

Swing for Eagle Ridge Academy!” and ask all Eagle Ridge families to consider

one or more of the following things to help the school:

1. Gather a Foursome and Play Golf! Registration opens March 1.

2. Do you own a company or work for an organization that would be interested

in becoming a sponsor for our event? Sponsor our Dinner, a Contest Hole or

a Beverage Cart!

3. Do you or your company wish to donate to our Raffle? Our goal is to have

more than 100 quality items to raffle off. Did you know you may write off your

in-kind donation as a tax-deduction?

4. Consider helping solicit donations from area businesses for Raffle.

5. Don’t golf? Consider purchasing a ticket and coming out for the dinner, silent

auction and program.

6. Help us promote the event using your own network of friends, co-workers,

family and social media connections.

Not into Golf? Are you into running instead? Join our first annual Donut Dash 5K on May 9! Online registration

for this fun day starts next week – watch for more information.

I invite you to “Run for Eagle Ridge Academy” and ask families to consider one or more of the following:

1. Register to run/walk to 5K or Mini-Donut Dash ½ Mile. Come out for a super fun morning of donuts

and dashing! Our goal is 250 registrants!

2. Consider becoming a sponsor for this event! T-shirts, donuts, medals, water, milk, snacks – all great

things to put your name to!

3. Help us promote the event by reaching out to your friends, fellow runners and running groups…we will

offer chipped time in a fun run environment!

If you have another idea of how you can help with either of these cool events, let me know by emailing me or

calling me at 952-746-7760, ext. 145. Go Eagle Ridge!

bocce ball, food and fun—all thanks to the PTO. We are so grateful to have them as our partner and appreciate

their hard work and commitment to our school.
