2015 -2016 Performing Arts Season The Emporia Arts Center's Six Appeal Six Appeal Vocal Band has become known for their vivid musical style, unmatched energy, and playful charm. Their far-reaching repertoire spans a multitude of decades and genres, including Pop, Country, Classic Rock, Jazz, R&B, and much more. If you can imagine it, they can sing it. Six Appeal utilizes a diverse arsenal of style and entertainment. They have a passion for spreading their a cappella music to every audience, and an essential aspect of their mission is to empower young singers in their educational outreach program. Please join Six Appeal and the EHS choir students for a remarkable evening. Cantus is an “intellectually, emotionally and musically rich” (Star Tribune) nine-member men’s vocal ensemble Cantus is known worldwide for its trademark warmth and blend and its engaging performances of music ranging from the Renaissance to the 21st century. As one of the nation’s few full-time vocal ensembles, Cantus has grown in prominence with its distinctive approach to creating music. The Washington Post has hailed Cantus' sound as having both “exalting finesse” and “expressive power” and refers to the “spontaneous grace” of its music making. For more than 125 years, the Metropolitan Operahas been the artistic home of the greatest singers inthe world. But the Met is also the launching pad for theopera stars of the future. Some of today’s leadingartists got their first big break by winning the company’snational auditions, as members of the young artistprogram, or by catching the attention of Met talentscouts. Another generation of young singers is waitingin the wings to be discovered. Experience Opera at it'sbest!

Spirit of Freedom tells the story of Irish independence,beginning 100 years ago with the Easter Rising. Akin toAmerica's 4th of July, the Easter Rising of 1916 createdthe Ireland we know and love today. Through music, song,dance, and storytelling, Celtic Nights honors the struggleof a people fighting to gain freedom, independence, andtrue democracy. The cast of three male vocalists andthree beautiful female singers, six of Ireland's mosttalented and coveted international dancers and our finemusicians, will enthrall audiences with the sounds ofCeltic Music old and new.

Missoula Children's Theatre

Missoula Children’s Theatre (MCT), the nation’slargest touring children’s theatre, has been touringextensively for more than 40 years now. This yearalone, over 65,000 kids will be cast in one of manyMCT International Tour shows. A tour team arrives ina given town with a set, lights, costumes, props andmake-up, everything it takes to put on a play…exceptthe cast! The team holds an open audition and casts50-60 local students to perform. The show is rehearsedthroughout the week for a public performance.
