COMPETITIONS

DESIGN COMPETITION- MICRO IDEAS, MACRO CHANGE

Som etimes, design is all ab out making a sma ll twea k to effect a large c hange, while

ma intaining c ontinuity. Rec onfigure the c ity-scap e o f Chennai through mic ro ideas that are

innovative and have the possibility of making positive macro transformations, while still

sustaining de sirable existing pa tterns.

The c om petition is op en to a ll a rc hitec ture students and a rchitec tural firms in Tamil Nadu. Any

number of entries are permitted. Individual as well as group entries with a maximum of three in

a group are p ermitted . The p resenta tion should b e o n a single p ane l of size 4 x 2 mounted on

foamboard. No information identifying the participant(s) should be given on the front side of

the p anel. The full name of the pa rticipa nt(s), institution a nd entry number (if mo re tha n one )

should be written on t he reverse side o f the p ane l in p ermane nt m arker. The e ntries have to be

submitted by 10.00 a.m on 23rd August 2012 at the Sc hoo l of Architec ture and Planning,

Chennai a long with b ona fide c ertific ate s from the institutions.

The ent ries w ill be d isp layed for pub lic viewership o n 24th and 25th Aug 2012. The c ontent of the

entries in terms of drawings, visuals written matter, scale, technique of presentation, etc.,

should b e in such a ma nner as to b e e asily com prehensible.

Three prizes w ill be awarded in ea c h c a tegory- first p rize Rs. 2000, sec ond p rize Rs. 1000, third

prize Rs. 500. Certific at es will be given for w inners and pa rtic ipa nts.
