KEY ACTUATED SAFETY SWITCHES - E100/E200/E300/E400...S

Overview

The high precision PA6 thermoplasticactuator, reinforced with glass fibre, colourRAL 9005, for the correct insertion of thecommand key.

The head can be rotated through 90°. Fourpossibilities for the side connection of thekey and one on the upper surface (5 way).

Contact element available for the E100-E200-E300 two contact series with slowaction, 1NO + 1NC and 2NC. For the E400series, it is also possible to add two 4-contact slow action contact elements,3NC + 1NO (80) and 2NC + 2NC (81).

The 5 way key actuated safety switches are designed to guarantee the stoppage of dangerous non-inertia machinemovement (machines whose stoppage time is lower than the access time to the action zone) when the key applied to themobile protection barrier is removed from the switch to open the command circuit, with positive action, as a contribution to the protection of the operators working on dangerous machinery.The switches are in accordance with the EN292, EN294, and EN60204 safety standards.

PERSONAL SAFETYThe command circuit that authorises the start-up of the process is closed only by the complete insertion of the safety key, andthe circuit is opened when this is removed. This prevents intentional tampering with the machine by the operator until thesafety protection device is opened.

OPERATING SAFETYDesigned to lock the safety device when closed, when the key is inserted in the switch the multiple block device is activatedand the NC contact can be closed.

SAFETY IN USEThe device has been designed to permit limited key vibration to make it relatively insensitive to mechanical disturbances.

Series E800…S5/B auxiliary release: Inthis product, the release mechanism is a keylock for speed and simplicity of operation.

Series E800…S5 auxiliary release:this is used to release the holding mechanismirrespective of the condition of theelectromagnet.— Unscrew the locking screw— Rotate the auxiliary release through 180° in

the direction of the arrow or symbols usinga screwdriver.After activation, the safety screw has to bereturned to its position and sealed (usingsafety paint, for example) to avoid possiblerisks.

The E800 series electromagnetic lock/release 5-way key safety switches are used in the protection barriers ofmachines with inertia movement (machines whose stoppage time is greater than the access time to the action zone), whichrequire controlled opening of the protection systems.The switches are in accordance with the EN292, EN294, EN60204, EN1088 and EN945-1 safety standards.The range is available in metal and thermoplastic versions, both with five types of contact element, each of which is associatedwith three types of coil, depending on the operating voltage.

SPRING LOCK DESIGN (E800…S5 and E800…S5/B)The spring lock holding mechanism operates on the closed-circuit principle. When the power supply voltage of theelectromagnet is cut off, it is not possible to open the safety barrier directly. This means that once the key has been inserted itis locked in actuator by elastic force and can be removed only by supplying power to the magnet or rotating the auxiliaryrelease device.

When the power supply to theelectromagnet is cut off, the safety barrier may be opened directly. This means that once the key has been inserted it is fixed inactuator electrically by applying power to the electromagnet, and can be removed when the power supply is cut off.
