For the past twenty-three years, the Inland Empire Ronald McDonald House (IERMH) has provided a home away from home to families of ill and injured children receiving medical treatment nearby. Most of these children are in critical condition, making it very important that the family is close to their child. The IERMH houses 54 families each night and with the support of our generous community in 2018 more than 1,500 families were able to stay close to their children during a medical crisis. The House relies heavily on a community of caring volunteers and generous donors who support the day to day operations of the House.
The Inland Empire Ronald McDonald House is proud to announce that we will be hosting our 10th Annual Pairing with a Purpose charity event this year. In addition toindulging in gourmet cuisine, delicate desserts and fine wines, guests will enjoy live music, and the opportunity to bid on a variety of exclusive items in our silent and live auctions. This event relies heavily on the support of our volunteer committee, donors and sponsors. It’s hard to overstate the impact that a few simple ingredients – a comfortable bed, a warm meal or a friendly chat with another parent can have on a family who has given up everything to help their child heal. Matty is our 7 year old bundle of joy, he has been staying here at the Inland Empire Ronald McDonald House since February 2019 and will remain with us until the remainder of his surgeries. Matty was born in December 2011 and diagnosed with Tibial Torsion of both lower extremities.
The Perez family living in Arizona, was referred to the Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital to seek treatment for their son. December of 2018 the Perez family arrived at the Hospital, concerned for the long treatment they would have to endure with their son, and being so far from home. A nurse at the hospital told them of the Inland Empire Ronald McDonald House just across the street were they could find shelter for their family.
While they have been staying here at the Ronald McDonald house they have found, comfort, care and support. Matty’s mother Veronica said “My family and I are so thankful to everyone at The House they make us feel at home and make us laugh when we get bad news. They help to take away the stress of not knowing where we would be staying, since we have come from so far away during this difficult time in our seven year old son’s life.
We are stronger for him while he is going through his surgeries and physical therapy, due to the charities support. We will always be great full to all the staff and The Ronald McDonald House IE.”
